Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel

It appears to be official.

Oh, and I called it. Here's the Politico today:

The announcement will send a signal that Obama is eager to work with Congress, and plans a swift launch of an aggressive agenda that will focus on the economy, taxes, energy, education and health care.

Here's me yesterday:

Clearly, the choice of Rahm Emanuel as White House Chief of Staff indicates that the president-elect is going to be pushing a very aggressive legislative agenda...

I'm very serious!

Starting to notice the shiny new BBQ narratives that are beginning to pick up more and more steam--:

"Why hasn't Obama fixed everything yet?"

"There's no way he can accomplish what he said he would..."

Now Politico and Obama himself are listening in on your blog, Bob.

Good call. And good pick.

JG - didn't you hear? This just in on
Faux News: The Obama presidency has failed!

;-)

But....but....this CAN'T be!!! Scarborough's latest rant (and agreed to by Lawrence O'Donnell) is that the rumors this last week about the Emanuel appointment was really only a ruse to get Emanuel into the Sentate seat. Has it been proved yet again that Scarborough is nothing more than a right-wing talking point?

(And kudos to Tweety this morning - in one of Tweety's sane moments - for calling Joe out that this Emanuel rant was nothing more than a distraction, which Richard Stengel even ultimately agreed with.)

I posted this quite a few threads down, but I don't think anyone saw...
According to wikipedia, Josh Lyman was based off Rahm Emanuel.
Considering Matt Santos was based off Obama, this administration is shaping up to be written by Aaron Sorkin.

Theo - I noticed that too. We've all somehow been sucked into the wonderful West Wing world, picking up where the series left off.

It's my dream come true.

PS. In case anyone forgot, Matt Santos chose Josh Lyman to be his Chief of Staff.

Now we need to look and see if President-elect Obama (LOVE typing that!) offers a position to Sen. McCain.

Posted by: amaraya [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 6, 2008 2:05 PM

Yes he will amaraya. He'll ask McCain to be head of homeland security. as such. ;-)

Can you believe this shit?

I woke up and checked the news again this morning just to make sure I wasn't dreaming.

It's...... all....... real....... time to exhale.

Obama needs this guy. Jews are the minority and quietly waiting to see how Obama handles Jewish issues. Many Jews supported Obama, but the ones who didn’t are afraid he will not be friendly to Jews. But the fact is that Jews have given so much to this country. Just like Rahm’s mother, Jews have been amongst strongest advocates for racial equality in this country only to be cast as evil by the Black American Muslim movement. And we’re getting a bum deal in Israel too. Yes we’re in power there, but the Palestinians are being used as puppets for all the Arab nations that hate Israel. Everyone knows that Hamas is controlled by Iran, yet Israel is still expected to negotiate with them after Hamas are elected by Palestinians who have been brainwashed into hate. Hamas are terrorists - there is no debating that! So I’m relived Rahm is in the Whitehouse, we need a tough Jew to fight for us since so many still don’t recognize the real antisemitism that is at the core of our problems.
