Bob,
O/T, but I just read this:
Shock: Obama Will Appoint Qualified Officials, Not Big Donors, To Key Ambassadorships

Dang. Does this mean you don't get that Ambassador to Tahiti slot for your fund raising effort?
I was hoping you would, and I'd have a shot at being your assistant.

Hey Packy - whats the scoop on Sarah's return to Alaska? How are the natives reacting to her now?

Thank you for linking that, Packy. I'm taking most of the day off and might have missed it.
Back to overdue housecleaning and reading a book that doesn't involve a next-page button.
BTW, Bermuda please Bob? I'd love UK but not the London part. Is there a an ambassador to Islay or Skye? The Hebrides?

Aw, shit. It's hard to tell.
She apparently still has a real fan base here, much to my dismay.

But I think that she has a lot of 'splaining to do now, and may not have a real cooperative state legislature to work with.
Additionally, after her stunning display of ignorance on the national stage, I think that what she says and does from here on out will be more closely examined by Alaska as a whole. Even as podunk a job as Governor of Alaska requires some basic intellect.
By the way, the woman over Palin's right shoulder in the pic is the bitch Megan Stapleton (former Anchorage TV News, now Palinista thug. She was teh one who savaged fired Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monagan on TV with the "Truth Squad.")
Palin's presence on the national ballot DID have an impact on the US Senate & House election here.
I attribute many of the the votes for Senator Ted "Felon" Stevens and Congressman Don (I'll bite you like a mink!) Young as a spill-down from the hoopleheads who started out voting for Sarah, and continued voting "R" all the way down the ballot.
But those races aren't over yet. There are still some 65,000 - 70,000 ballots remaining to be counted, and they could turn it around. By the middle of next week, we'll know better. Fingers crossed.

Paddy;
yep. My dad emigrated to the US from Co. Tyrone many, many years ago, married a nice Irish-American girl (whose parents were from Co. clare), and they produced the 4 of us kids.

Tahiti is not an independent nation. It is an overseas territory of France. No ambassadors there... sorry Bob!

It's hard to overstate Indiana. It's the state with the largest KKK membership!
