The Creator of the "O"

Interview with the designer of the "O" logo. I'd love to see a survey comparing the brand ID of the "O" logo versus the McDonald's "M" and the Apple apple. My bet is that the "O" logo is almost as recognizable as the most prevalent American brands.

One prevalent brand logo I'm looking forward to never seeing again is "W." I can't believe I still see it on bumper stickers. Have they no shame????

While the creator of the "O" Logo and subsequent branding of Obama is very good and i think they did an excellent job so far, i hardly think the "O" logo as well branded as McDonald's "M" or as well overall branded as Apple in general with or without the "apple".

They are well on their way but its a new brand and visual recognition is not all good branding is, and this one is still in its infancy.

Though i could totally see this discussion being had in many art schools across the country, i had to discuss B of A and the Nike Swish when i was in art school certainly not as much fun as the branding of an American President.
