If you're still alarmed by that strip of red aross the middle of the map, here's the MyDD map, distorted to show electoral votes and thus population.

Not so much red.

To see the whole map blue is a dream. Someone wrote on my blog that the red is striking on the map, but the population of those states are not considered.
