And Yet Bloggers Are Vulgar And Unserious

WALLACE: Did you tell Senator Leahy, “bleep yourself”?

CHENEY: I did.

WALLACE: Any qualms, second thoughts, or embarrassment?

CHENEY: No, I thought he merited it at the time and we’ve since patched over that wound.

Is this an official go-ahead that the f-word is awesome as long as it's justified?

Excellent!

Of course they always omit Leahy's reaction:

"We're not intimidated by thugs"

Posted by: Travis D at December 21, 2008 12:54 PM

Leahy said that?
Good for him!

Posted by: ceu at December 21, 2008 12:55 PM

Leahy could have ensured his response was remembered, if he had said:

"We're not intimidated by fucking thugs"

Posted by: Alan4s at December 21, 2008 12:57 PM

Sorry no that's his line from the Dark Knight

Posted by: Travis D at December 21, 2008 12:57 PM

Oh. Well - it would have been good had he said it.
(I haven't seen the movie - but I have somehow managed to buy 2 copies of it for my son for Christmas...)

It is official. Cheney wants to be indicted for his crimes now before Bush leaves office.

I have given this a lot of thought. Can Bush pardon Cheney for crimes he hasn't when charged with? I think that is why he is openly admitting to war crimes. I think he needs to be charged before Bush gets out of office for his evil plan to go forward.

I hope Eric Holder makes a special project out of Cheney.

>>Can Bush pardon Cheney for crimes he hasn't when charged with?

Yes. See Nixon.

GItheJOE:

Yes, I believe Bush could pardon Cheney for crimes he hasn't yet been charged with committing.
I base this opinion on history:

President Richard Nixon resigned because he knew he was toast. The House was preparing to pass Articles of impeachment, and there was no doubt the Senate would try and find him guilty and he'd be removed from office. He would then face possible criminal prosecution.

After becoming President upon Nixon's resignation, Nixon's former VP Gerald Ford then granted "a full, free, and absolute pardon unto Richard Nixon for all offenses against the United States which he, Richard Nixon, has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from July (January) 20, 1969 through August 9, 1974."

Fuck Cheney, that fucking fuck. And fucking Bush right fucking with him. How the fuck did two fucking guys totally fuck us so fucking much?

"Well, he certainly illustrates the diversity of the word..."

That makes me ill.

Do you think Obama will do that for Cheney? I don't know anymore. This inclusion thing is making me sick. I understand the country has been broken but for the love of God we don't condone this type of behavior. Right?

Posted by: GItheJOE at December 21, 2008 2:12 PM

I agree with GI. The way things are going at this point, Bush won't have to pardon Cheney because Obama will wuss out and pardon the both of 'em. In the spirit of post partisan harmony d'ye see.

Posted by: jm at December 21, 2008 2:26 PM

Right.
I doubt Obama would even think of pardoning Cheney. But Bush might - although such a pardon would necessarily imply that there were crimes committed - something they have adamantly denied - so it's kind of sticky for him.

Matt, I am a huge fan of the Boondock Saints. Thank you and good job with the Crazy Train Remix.

I love his use of the word "merited." A "go fuck yourself" merit badge would be a wonderful addition to the Boy Scout or Girl Scout Handbook.

On Cheney's assertion that "go fuck yourself" was merited... isn't that a purely subjective evaluation?

In any case, I believe that on the floor of the US Senate, the use of such crude perjoratives is forbidden.

That being said, and since I'm not on the floor of the US Senate, and since no one can dispute that it IS merited, Dick Cheney is a ratfucking motherfucker, and he SHOULD go fuck himself.
I hope his fat ass is arrested and prosecuted for crimes against America and humanity, and he spends many years in prison being some big, mean, syphilitic bastard's bitch.

Pack,

That would require a special cell to accommodate his Darth Vader life support system. Without his special suit Cheney could only live 5 minutes breathing oxygen. You see when you're born in the fires of hell oxygen just won't do. Thanks Satan for another genocidal asshole.
