Renounce And Reject

The cable news is telling me that the President-elect wasn't aggressive enough renouncing Governor Blagojevich. And, of course, they're both from the same state so they must be good buddies and therefore the President-elect is a crook, right?

Let's check some precedent. Naturally, President Bush renounced and rejected fellow Texan and former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay when he was knee-deep in corruption and scandal and was eventually forced to resign after being indicted, right?

Oh. Wait.

President Bush didn't renounce DeLay. In fact...

DeLay even got a ride aboard Air Force One! Meanwhile, the Obama team had to frantically backpedal from a brief phone call between Obama and Blagojevich -- a phone call that may or may not have happened weeks ago -- while Fitzgerald said there is zero connection between Obama and the Blagojevich charges.

Bob, they're just trying to keep warm by expelling the maximum in hot air.

There has been a lot of talk (pre this scandal and mainly by Repubs of course), about the new administration not going after the war criminals from Cheney on down, or the miscreants in Gonzo's Justice Department to name just two indictable areas of many, because it would only be a distraction to the daunting tasks ahead for the president-elect, that the American people just don't want to go through all that... well, just watch those same concerned citizens try and turn this little distraction into nothing short of White-fucking-water II.

What is with the MSM's obsession with renouncing people? What does it prove? It means nothing, but Repubs and the MSM seem to have a hard-on for renouncing and rejecting people.

The MSM is trying to appear 'fair and balanced'. Apparently, they've all forgotten what 'fair and balanced' journalism means.

MSM just has to have a narrative. "Governor no one heard of before today is corrupt and Obama is not involved" just doesn't make for a good narrative.

I hear Obama launched his political career in Blogo's living room!
