The Halperin Taint
As predicted yesterday morning, here's NBC's Washington bureau chief Mark Whitaker echoing Halperin's gripe that the establishment press hasn't been hard enough on the president-elect:
...NBC Washington bureau chief Mark Whitaker said that reporters have not been aggressive enough during Obama's post-election pressers."Our job is to hold him to account," Whitaker said, adding that he thinks "we're going to have to get tougher."
And by tougher, he doesn't mean greater in-depth analysis of policy, he means more taint-mongering of course. Yep. Your so-called "liberal" news outfit. The president-elect has another press conference today and given the cavalcade of awful we're faced with as a nation, it'll be taint, taint, taint. All taint all the time. Why? Because Whitaker and Halperin say so.
ADDING... And that goes for Milbank, too.

Posted on the "Serious Republicans" thread, but fits here as well:
Obama needs to come clean on the Natalee Holloway taint.
If Obama doesn't know Natalle, he knows Greta Van Susteren, who covered the story ad nauseum (and knows Natalee's parents).
If he doesn't know Greta, he certainly knows someone who knows her.
Not to mention Kevin Bacon and such as. Also.

looks like all the Rip Van Winkel's of the press are pretty quick to get their bearings back after 8 long years...
