And People Take Them Seriously?

Put aside the record deficits and debt of the Bush Republican decade. Put aside stories about billions of American dollars just vanishing in Iraq -- an occupation with a $10 billion a month price tag. In the face of incontrovertible expert advice that a massive government stimulus is required to prevent a depression, we get this from the GOP:

"Congress cannot keep writing checks and simply pass IOUs to our children and grandchildren," says Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas. Asks House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio: "How much debt are we going to pile on future generations?"

And no, Senator Big John didn't follow up his remark with, "Psych! I'm just effing with ya. We pissed away money for eight years and we know it! YEEHAW!"
