Hassle-n-back!

Posted by JumpyPants

I don't watch The View. There, I said it. But I do watch pieces of it when HuffPost posts them, and they are sometimes kind of mildly sort of a little entertaining. Or they were when Rosie was on, and was getting all up in Elspeth Hasselenhoffback's shiznit.

But the latest one, in which Elisabethany Hasselenbacher waxes hagiographic about the "good man" who is about to leave the White House and retire to a life of drunken mountain-biking/brush-clearing-drive-bys-with-shotgun is truly the most awful clip I've seen of the awfulness that is The View. And why it's so awful is that as Elissabethe gets all misty-eyed and damp about this man who is "so not the caricature we have been fed," not a single person, either at the desk or in the audience, shouts "SHUT THE F*%K UP!"

Also, if you do watch the clip, notice that she has The Crazy Eye.

It's disturbing that there are those people...those 30% who still like Bush. In some ways, it's kind of nice that Republicans haven't learned anything from their most recent "whoopin's". I'm listening to NPR right now and they just played a clip of a public interview of several Republicans gunning for the RNC chair and one of the questions they were asked, to a great many cheers mind you, was how many guns they have. And they proudly rat-a-tat-tattled off the number and brand and size and so on of each of their weapons. The crowd loved it.

So, again, evidence they plan to double-down on their fringe base (is it possible to have a "fringe base") of not-as-conservative-as-they-are-insane nut jobs. That bodes well for us for a while. EH can continue to be marginalized as a joke among the titans of intellect comprising The View.

I watched this clip and thought the whole time that it must be nice to be privileged enough to get 15 minutes with the president (any president) when you claim to fame was eating live bugs on national television.

Hell, getting a look into the Oval Office would be fucking awesome. I'm glad her little one headbutted Bush. It may be the one time that kid has the right attitude about imcompetent Republican leaders.

Well, if there is justice in the world her kids will become progressives and drive her crazy in a few years. And on why no one challenged her, well over time its been shown that no matter what, the View will keep her on, she's the darling of the show's executive producer and BW thinks of her as evidence that the panel is "balanced".
