Have You No Sense of Decency, Sir?

Fox News published a report Thursday slamming Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison by featuring a discredited “terrorism expert.” Ellison’s hajj pilgrimage to Mecca last month, an important part of his Muslim faith, was paid for by the Muslim America Society of Minnesota, an organization that has earned the respect of the Minnesota Council of Churches, the St. Paul Police Department and former Vice President Walter Mondale, but also has been a target by mainly right-wing blogs and think tanks.

Steve Emerson -- the FNC expert -- is one of many paranoid far-right Neo-McCarthyites who never met a Muslim who he didn't reflexively peg as an evildoer.

Did anyone ask terrorism "expert" Steve Emerson why Ellison hasn't closed the deal and blown up Minneapolis yet? I mean, he's been a Congressman for two years now! Why can't he get it done?

>>he's been a Congressman for two years now!

AND he was re-elected -- ostensibly by evildoer voters.

Ellison should sue Fox News, and Steve Emerson personally, for defamation of character.

For a huge fucking amount.

If you read the comments at the MN Independent, they start off with right wingnuttery, which quickly starts to be drowned out by Minnesotans defending Ellisons right to hajj. Several folks from his district say that he's the best congressional rep they have ever had and will continue to vote for him. The comments are worth reading. I am proud of the citizens of Minnesota.

I don't see how excluding people from your party is going to be a winning strategy in the future. I am very hopefully that broadband improvements and internet installed in peoples lives will end this cycle of people voting against themselves.
