Yes. While he was unarmed, handcuffed, and 3 other officers were holding him down.
Oh and begging them not to taser him or shoot him because he has a 4 year old daughter.
The cops were called because on the train behind him a fight broke out in one ofthe cars. Well Mr. Grant and his friends were waiting on the platform for a different train when BART cops rolled up and started terrorizing them and accusing them of being the shit starters on the train. THEY were not.

"He said to them, 'Don't Tase me; I have a 4-year-old daughter,' " Burris said.

The interaction on the video is not audible.

Seconds later, police put Grant face-down on the ground. Grant appears to struggle. One of the officers kneels on Grant as another officer stands, tugs at his gun, unholsters it and fires a shot into Grant's back.

I've definitely been mixing it up today. I got a petition going and sent it to BART. It said that if this guy is not interviewed within the next 48 we'll be doin a Selma style Boycott on that ass. No riders until some semblance of Justice happens. Today the cop that pulled the trigger resigned. Good news cuz it means he no longer continues to get paid for shooting and unarmed handcuffed butcher in the fuckin' back.
I know this cop didn't mean for his gun to go off becuase if you get the video with the sound you can hear him say, "OH MY GOD!" but seriously, I'm sick of it being ok to use extreme force on all OUR folks in every situation.

QT is right. Cell phone cameras are part of the changes--good and bad--and this is an instance where marginal to bad cops would do well to remember that we are everywhere and watching. I'm sure the folks that marched the streets of Birmingham felt the exact same way you do right now, but, they did things right, and made people notice. As a white male I want to apologize for my entire species. I saw that shit yesterday and flipped my shit. This is absolute bullshit and exactly why we need officers to carry batons like in the UK. I went to a pistol safety course, which was taught my a police officer, and he talked for hours about the training all officers go through to familiarize themselves of where all their weapons are in case of an emerygency. He even demostrated blindfolded. So, there is no fucking way this rent-a-cop pulled his pistol out and mistakenly fired a shot into the detainee without knowing it was his fucking pistol. I hope this man and everyone in his chain of command are sued to the point that this man's daughter can go to college at Harvard Law for free and become a member of the ACLU.

In my heart of hearts I think this guy was on some "Training Day" posturing shit and really didn't mean for his gun to go off. Hell they all were pulling out tasers and guns at some point during the video horror show. I can't imagine an officer thinking its ok to shoot a kid at point blank range while your fellow officers hold him down. He could have easily shot one of the other officers.
He's a father as well. The protest I attended earlier is getting crazy at this hour. The Mayors walking the streets asking the police to leave the kids alone that are lying face down in the streets in protest. Some of the kids are pretty off the hook and they set a few cars on fire.
GET THIS: An old asian dude whose car was torched was asked by a reporter how he feels about his ride being BBQ'd. He said I'm not happy that my car is on fire but I'm also not happy about this young man being murdered. I understand these kids frustration.
