I double-plus-enjoy the tagging system, Bob.

How was your lobster, Theo?

Posted by: Political Party Pooper [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 13, 2009 6:37 PM

I want to know how many regulars (or lurkers) on the GDAB have sent an email to Teh Rachel, Teh K.O., Teh Daily Show and Teh Colbert Report pumping the idea of Teh Bob Cesca as a guest?

If you haven't, then do it.
If you have, do it again.

Time is short.

Posted by: PackyJ at January 13, 2009 6:38 PM

PPP - haven't had it yet.

Posted by: theo at January 13, 2009 6:41 PM

I wrote to Rachel and KO. No more writing today. Pain meds had reverse effect on me - instead of letting me sleep, they kept me up - I'm sleeptyping right now - and that's AFTER bathing in coffee.

That was a most excellent idea you had Packy.....I came across your post this morning as I skimmed over last night's PPT. Per your suggestion, I emailed all four.

I just couldn't bring myself to send one to Billo....must be some genetic thing......

If you want a RANT make me watch "Moscow Zero". Good Lord Val Kilmer needs to stay in Russia and never make movies again.

Posted by: GItheJOE at January 13, 2009 6:55 PM

I will say, theJOE, Kilmer was pretty damn good in TOMBSTONE......whole movie was awesome........

Posted by: LameDuckHunting at January 13, 2009 6:58 PM

I gave at the office Packy. Bob will be on Hannity's American within a week.

Posted by: GItheJOE at January 13, 2009 6:58 PM

Packy, be sure to introduce yourself to CycloCynic. Y'all are like Bob's pimps or somethin'.

HOLY SHIT!!

Former Presidents make money? WTF is wrong with this country? I thought our Presidents take a vow of poverty like our religious leaders? Wait....

This is coming out of Chris Matthews loud irish sewer and the party of values. You know the ones that want transparency in the Clinton affairs just like the market. Wait...

Damn, but you're optimistic, eh? :)

I did, Packy. I sent one off to Rachel while watching David Gregory perpetuate the No Attacks Mythology TM (how do ya do the trademark thing??) and told her that someone (her) needed to put an end to it & I just happened to know of a person...

Posted by: ceu at January 13, 2009 7:10 PM

Packy-- I sent the four emails you requested. Nice to meet you, fellow pimp.

Posted by: CycloCynic at January 13, 2009 7:11 PM

Pat Buchanan is a fucking idiot.
"If someone has planted a nuclear bomb, then we do what is necessary to get the info about it"
Have there been any cases of this happening? ummm...thought so.
"This is a war. We shouldn't have to abide by the Geneva Conventions when these people are fighting us"
That's the reason the Conventions exist, Pat. For use in WARS.

grrrrrr....

Posted by: ceu at January 13, 2009 7:18 PM

Pat Buchanan thinks 24 is a reality show......

Posted by: LameDuckHunting at January 13, 2009 7:22 PM

Ceu,

Don't get mad at Pat he was born retarded. The new wingnut thing is this "24" bullshit theory. I have heard Mike Gallager, Hannity, Glen Beck all talk about this shit today. They all say they would do whatever it takes to keeps this country safe. I think they all forgot to serve in the military.

Posted by: GItheJOE at January 13, 2009 7:22 PM

i know....but he makes me crazy.

Posted by: ceu [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 13, 2009 7:26 PM

Ron Christie worked for Cheney?? How did I not know that.

and Eric Alterman in Hardball...

Posted by: ceu [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 13, 2009 7:29 PM

cyclocynic - I just sent an email to you with my address and a solemn promise to give a glowing review.

Posted by: theo at January 13, 2009 7:29 PM

And there goes Christie with the "thru Bush's leadership & policies, this country has not been hit again since 9/11"...
Tweety asked him to name one thing that Bush did that united Americans, and that was his reponse. Bush's greatest accomplishment & it's a fucking LIE!!

Why am i watching this?

Posted by: ceu [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 13, 2009 7:32 PM

The hilarious thing about the '24' as a reality show bullshit right-wing hacks have been cooking up this week is that I read an article (I think it was in Esquire) about a month ago about how this season involves Jack realizing that some of the shit he's done (enhanced interrogation techniques) may not be the best idea.

Silly rabbits...

Posted by: Alexander Rose at January 13, 2009 7:37 PM

And now Christie is all indignant that Alterman used the word LIE in regard to Bush & invading Iraq.
"The commander in chief would NEVER lie when putting the lives of our armed forces at risk..."
The Max Cleland shit was "unfortunate" and the Swift Boaters were independent of the president & the GOP.
Oh....this is not going well for anyone....

Posted by: ceu [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 13, 2009 7:37 PM

I killed it, didn't I?
sorry

Posted by: ceu [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 13, 2009 7:43 PM

I just got a blog-rection from Bob's tags. I don't know what that says about me as a person, and frankly, I don't want to know.

Posted by: Redmond [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 13, 2009 7:53 PM

Hang in there ceu. It is really early. I am the threadkiller around here.

Posted by: GItheJOE at January 13, 2009 7:54 PM

Packy, I did all four (I thought Kat would like it worded that way since Rachel was one of them who was done). You and CC as Bob's pimps--heh. Guess that makes me a pimpette since I followed your request. *waving Bob pom poms--my neighborhood has very confused pimps*

I'll try to stay awake through KO. Really.

Entertainment News : Disney To Make Sequel To Slumbdog Millionaire starring Jonas Brother + Howie Mandel...

If you read "The Dark Side," (Jane Mayer you owe me some serious money, lady.) it talks about how intelligence officials actually based their techniques off of episodes of 24. That shit was their right-wing crack.

Posted by: Redmond [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 13, 2009 7:56 PM

(one of THOSE who was done?--shit)

Posted by: dontpanic23 at January 13, 2009 7:56 PM

And most of the conversations I have with right-wingers, they frame debates in 24-esque dilemmas.

"No, you don't understand, they're could be a bomb going off in a playground full of orphans, but all you liberals bitch about civil liberties. I mean, we gotta do to these people what they'd do to us, or else Janeane Garofolo just seriously wasted her time on the computer. So, stop talking to me about the Geneva Convention, when Jack Bauer totally fucked a guy up and saved a school. That shit's real life. Now, let's get to the Chinese Buffet before they run out of crab legs. We'll take my Yukon."

[Most accurate dialog ever.]

Posted by: Redmond [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 13, 2009 8:00 PM

Thank you brother for reading. I couldn't think of the book that kills that 24 bullshit. To hear the radio wingnuts talk about it, you can tell they all have viagara hardons from beating up brown people.

Oh yeah. Islam is a violent religion because the Qu'ran talks about killing people and it is to be taken literally, so all muslims are juhadist. Mike Gallagher.

Posted by: GItheJOE at January 13, 2009 8:04 PM

>>>Packy, I did all four.

DP, you hussy!

(Fun, isn't it?)

Posted by: Kat at January 13, 2009 8:05 PM

Ha. Keith just described '24' as "neo-con soft porn."

Posted by: Kat at January 13, 2009 8:08 PM

Here's why torture doesn't work in a "nut"shell:

People will say anything to make you stop electrocuting their testicles!

I'd probably admit to building a time machine and killing JFK which would then spark a right-wing war on flux capacitors because, my God, are those people a bunch of pansies. "He might travel back in time and find out the Bible's not real - then kill Nixon. OH NOES!"

Posted by: Redmond [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 13, 2009 8:10 PM

It did feel good, Kat.

Posted by: dontpanic23 at January 13, 2009 8:10 PM

Nice, Kat. KO FOR THE WIN!

Posted by: Redmond [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 13, 2009 8:11 PM

Now about that (tm) html...hey, Packy! Share! I promise not to abuse it.

Posted by: dontpanic23 at January 13, 2009 8:13 PM

>>>And most of the conversations I have with right-wingers, they frame debates in 24-esque dilemmas.

Yeah, no matter how much torture in general and the ticking bomb scenario in particular are debunked they can't let go of the 24. Billo last night kept saying "They wanna put Jack Bauer out of business! They wanna put Jack Bauer out of business, and I'm not gonna let him!"

Looks like O'Reilly just cast himself as a recurring character on the new season.

Oh also did Keith just quote someone on Gitmo saying "These people don't suffer. Hell some of them don't even speak English." That is... breathtakingly brilliant. I mean...I wish I'd thought of it. As a joke, but still, awesome.

Posted by: El Mystico at January 13, 2009 8:15 PM

I confess that I haven't wrote yet, I don't know what to write! Can some of you wonderful writers send me some ideas on the Book Of The Face? Also, did you send the same letter to all sources?I will make the letters my own, I just can't get started!
Signed,
Pen-Tied

Posted by: Teh Minx at January 13, 2009 8:15 PM

So, are the tags Bob put this thread under supposed to be our topics of conversation for this evening? He really needs to create a "bat-shit crazy insanity" tag.

Posted by: Kat at January 13, 2009 8:18 PM

Minx, I just suggested Bob as an author who would be appreciated by their viewers, gave a few words on the book and link to it on Amazon, gave the blog link, said a few nice things about him and the book. Signed it. Licked the stamp. Hit send. I'm not great at that stuff either, so I tried to do it on autopilot.

Posted by: dontpanic23 at January 13, 2009 8:28 PM

Wow... the Bush team stocked the civil rights division with racists. Because no one ever explained irony to them, never ever ever.

Posted by: El Mystico at January 13, 2009 8:29 PM

Minx, mine were all different.

Posted by: ceu at January 13, 2009 8:32 PM

I bet Scribblechic just kicked her TV if she is watching KO.

Posted by: GItheJOE at January 13, 2009 8:34 PM

Joe, did you kill the thread AGAIN!?

Posted by: Political Party Pooper [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 13, 2009 8:55 PM

This one's for teh minx:

If you think ice cream is that grey slushie stuff your driving through, you might be from Wisconsin

Posted by: Political Party Pooper [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 13, 2009 8:57 PM

Wow... Bob Gates... sayin' sane things. Did you know that the State Department currently has less diplomats than the Pentagon has lawyers? I do, thanks to him.

And the Pentagon saying that the military is doing too much and we need more diplomacy? Ga-HUHHHH!?!?!

Posted by: El Mystico at January 13, 2009 8:57 PM

Thanks, all.

I guess I do sorta sound like Bob's pimp or something... but think he deserves a shot on ONE of these shows.

ALL of the programs in question have guests on them regularly who have far smaller intellects, or who are toadies for right-wing hackery, or who have opinions that are rooted in utter stupidity (or all the above)... which makes them far less worthy of media attention than the Cesca is.

I will nag no more.

Posted by: PackyJ at January 13, 2009 9:03 PM

Holy FSM, I didn't mean to Kill Teh Thread.
Going away now so my pool team can get their butt kicked with my able assistance.
You can all badmouth me while I'm gone.
Have a nice night, everyone.

Posted by: PackyJ at January 13, 2009 9:10 PM

man, isn't Packy such a jerk?
time check to see how active this thread is.

Posted by: theo at January 13, 2009 9:21 PM

Thanks, Pooper!
Here's one fer ya: If you can see the whole road from a 3 by 3 inch square scraped in the ice on the windshield, you may be from Wisconsin!

Posted by: Teh Minx at January 13, 2009 9:32 PM

Oh, Packy...I wasn't trying to say you were a nag! I was just teasing you!

Posted by: Kat at January 13, 2009 9:34 PM

I have no TV, so I can't comment on the perpetual parade of pundit pablum in real time...but yes, Packy had a good idea, writing in to the Rachel, the KO, the Daily...i'll do that tonight...or tomorrow, after the wine is outta the system.

Posted by: BrunoMachiavelli at January 13, 2009 9:51 PM

I'm just wondering...with all this "Bush saved us from another attack" BULLSHIT! Why doesn't anyone with a brain point out that we lost over 3,000 people on 9/11 and then he went ahead and sent OVER 4,000 of our servicemen and women to death IN THE WRONG COUNTRY....IRAQ!(duhhhhhh!)

Wow! HE really protected us by killing more people in Iraq than we lost in 9/11! What a fucking savior!

Oh, by the way, the country that cultivated Osama Bin Laden, Afghanistan is still a mess and we haven't made much progress there!

Hello?! Hello!? Damn things must be clogged again. I knew I should have gotten a big truck instead.

Posted by: El Mystico at January 13, 2009 10:25 PM

Hey guys. It took some time, but I finally found a guy who's as much of a failure as GWB. His name is Marcus Schrenker. First he tried to fake his own death and failed, and then he tried to kill himself and failed. The authorities caught him before he died. Here's HIS story of complete brilliance: "With his world crumbling around him, investment adviser Marcus Schrenker opted for a bailout. However, his plan to escape personal turmoil was short-lived.

In a feat reminiscent of a James Bond movie, the 38-year-old businessman and amateur daredevil pilot apparently tried to fake his death in a plane crash, secretly parachuting to the ground and speeding away on a motorcycle he had stashed away in the pine barrens of central Alabama.

But the captivating three-day saga came to an end when authorities finally caught up to Schrenker at a North Florida campground where he had apparently tried to take his own life, said Alabama-based U.S. Marshals spokesman Michael Richards.

Schrenker was taken into custody around 10 p.m. EST after officers from the U.S. Marshal's office in Tallahassee, Fla., found him inside a tent at a campground in nearby Quincy, Richards said."

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/plane_crash_mystery

I shouldn't find this funny, but I think it's completely hilarious, for some reason.

Posted by: Leigh [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 14, 2009 12:47 AM

At least he tried to do the right thing. Booooosh should do what any honorable fuck up would have done in years past and fall on his sword. Come to think of it, maybe he was trying to when he sucked that pretzel down the wrong hole.

There aren't any mandated topics for the open threads.

I supposed this answers the question someone (gypsy? theo? minx?) raised the other night wondering if Bob reads the PTT. This reminds me of that time when I got caught smoking weed in the shed by my dad.

Posted by: Kat at January 14, 2009 8:35 AM

Kat, I was dumb enough to leave a trail of seeds leading to the locked box. Wasn't caught during the fact, like you, but was asked to open the *gulp* box. (Years later found out she--my English teacher mom--tried the rolled one to see what would happen. She couldn't really remember...)
