Yeah, I'm Taking the Bait
Limbaugh is clearly baiting everyone with the crazy. And okay -- I'm taking the bait because it's important to remind ourselves who's running the show on the far-right. And I'm obsessive about the crazy, so there's that.
In the latest clip from his Hannity interview, Limbaugh claims that Democrats aren't the party of life, liberty or the pursuit of happiness. Looking directly into the camera, he says:
Are they for life? Folks, they're the party of abortion.
No, no. Democrats are the party of privacy and protecting the life of people who would otherwise be driven into backalley butcher shops. And we don't need to remind anyone about the 100,000 dead Iraqi civilians. Aborted in the 140th trimester. To paraphrase Congressman Frank, Limbaugh clearly thinks life begins at conception and ends at birth.
Liberty? UH. People are trying to pass any law they can to restrict where you can go, what you can do when you get there, where you can eat, what you can eat, what you can smoke, when you can smoke, what kind of baby you can have, all these things. UH.
Wait -- whah? What kind of baby you can have? Does anyone know what the f-ck he's talking about here or is he just stoned again? Also, if I recall correctly, it was Limbaugh and his fellow pee-pants-dancers who were more than willing to give up explicitly-defined constitutional liberties -- you know, things like like privacy (see previous remarks) -- for the sake of a little extra security. The "you can't have liberty if you're dead" reasoning.
Happiness? I have yet to see a happy liberal. I have yet to see a happy Democrat. They're always angry about things.
There were 2 million Democrats in Washington on Tuesday who were plenty happy.
The bizarro, opposite-day reasoning of the far-right isn't cowering underground. If nothing else, they're going to be louder and crazier than ever before. Simply put: Remember the 1990s?

Just a minor "correction," Bob.
If my memory serves me correctly, wasn't Rush all FOR privacy when it came to his own medical records regarding oxycontin?
Oh. Wait. That falls in the "hypocrisy" category.
My bad.

>>What you can smoke?
I am sure Rush's good christian listeners will have some problems with that one?
Will the strategy of crazy work this time? I am damn sure that President Obama will not make many of the same mistakes as Clinton. Al Gore would have won if Clinton didn't do something private and the party of privacy didn't crucify him for it.

I just named him Douchebag of the Week yesterday for his "I hope [Obama] fails" comment, but Jesus H[ussein] Christ, the man mas gone mad with the hate. Yes, hate. I'm talking to you, Origins/Lib4Ever McTrollster.
The Oxycontin has obviously eaten away at what was left of his brain.

What's terrifying about the idea that we should all brace for The 90s Redux with douchemouths like Limbaugh is that Bill was a triangulating centrist, a Southerner (read: Redneck), and FUCKING WHITE and they still went after him with sick, sadistic, dangerous zeal. If the Limbaughs and the Hannitys stoke the sort of fire that McCain and Palin did during the campaign, we're looking at something much more insidious, and potentially deadly, than Bill ever got.

Very true, Elvis. I am concerned about the safety issue in light of the crazy shit these Wingnut clowns will say to incite their loony listeners.
They have to get Obama a Pope mobile and he needs to stay inside it. They could call it "The Hope Mobile."

His rantings are the sounds of utter defeat. The crazies talk crazier when no one is listening to get attention. The fact that he's getting a national 'legitimate' platform (Fixed News) to air his nonsense on is the atrocity. It's one thing to talk this bullshit on radio, where the listeners are obviously of the same elk. But to put this on national television ...

I wrote Lush Rimbaugh off as a mean, delusional prick when he referred to Chelsea Clinton as the White House Dog. To any decent person, Presidents children are off-limits as targets. Bill and Hillary (she worked on health care policy) were fair game, but saying nasty things about their daughter only demonstrates how despicable *he* is. He has only gotten worse since.
I agree with you Bob that we need to fasten our seat-belts for a new round crazy viciousness from the usual suspects. Their reality distortion fields will be set to ludicrous.

Every time I see a clip or discussion of limbaugh, I scream stop giving that fucker air time! He relishes it (I know you know that) and feeds on it (and a whole lot of food based on the girth he has achieved).
He peddles hate and nothing he says merits actual discussion.
He reads what his writers put in front of him. I saw his 1993 appearance on Letterman where he choked on an answer for Dave's comment about rush being full of hot gas. The next night though, someone had written a snarky reply for him (transcript of the letterman appearance at the link).
Anyway, that fat sack of shit riles up the ignorant and when one of his devoted listeners does something violent, I hope they lock him away too.

I think there should be an operation chaos effort perpetrated on Limfat, Hanassity, and Bilbo. Call in and see how far we can lure these idiots into the woods of insanity. My bet is there is no limit to the kind of crazy shit they will agree with and embelish.

What companies sponsor Rush--do they wish our government would fail too? I wish I could find an updated list of sponsors.
