Wingnut Revolution Fail - Part 3
Here's an excerpt from an after-action report from the Chicago Wingnut Revolution (Tea Party), attended by 400 revolutionaries (with permits):
When we reached the Michigan Ave Bridge, a tea bag was broken open and dumped into the river to signify the birth of a new American Revolution.
TBogg's reaction is priceless:
I'm not sure which is sadder; the notion that only 400 people in a city of 2.9 million showed up to protest, or the image of Eric manfully tearing apart a Lipton teabag so that the 400+ strong could watch a teaspoon's worth of shredded orange pekoe flutter and disperse into the wind.
Again, why tea? Tea doesn't hate America.
Prediction: They'll keep holding these misguided and ridiculous events for a couple more weeks. We'll get to mercilessly make fun of them. Then they'll get bored and quit.

"Wingnut" is good, but can be dismissed as opinionated hostility (as if we have no reason to be hostile toward people who could make Alexander Hamilton re-think his concept of "president as elected monarch").
I've taken to using the term "Wrong Wing", in recognition of the fact that they have been nthing but wrong for over 3 decades. I've used it in responses that point out the hypocrisy of all of the "born again small government" types. (Deficits matter again? How very interesting. When did that idea come back, about the 3rd week in January?)
They REALLY hate it, more than "wingnut", in my experience. Give it a try and see how it works for you.

This would make an awesome "Flight of the Conchords" bit.

They may well be the wrong wing, Lamont, but they are wingnuts. They're out there, spinning on the edges of the screw of reality.

Hi Bob,
These wing nuts are the ones that create the jobs that support the economy. Lets do all of us a favor and split up the country. Those of us who pay the disproportionate share of taxes will take any 4 continguous states and you and your trust fund boyfriends have have the rest along with the illegals, the oppressed minorities, the ACLU liberated pedophiles, and all of the other fruit loops that you so avidly "defend". The probability is that you would all come running to us like a couple of girl scouts on their first camping trip.

Several other time points you missed on your graph and the economy...when Obama started leading in the primaries (NASDAQ drops 1200), he wins the election (NASDAQ plummets to a 12 year low), Obama takes office (a 1300 point slide).
I laugh at you liberals who never created a business, spent sleepless nights on call in a hospital, or worked three jobs to pay for college because your old man was not one of the"profiteers" whom you so despise. Lets see the state of this disuniom on 4 years...if it lasts that long. 35 days of Obama and his crisis.

who's gonna do the work there, Mike? You know, build the roads, drive the trucks, stock the store shelves, maintain the electricity, teach the children....that sort of thing - the things that we fruit loops do now?

... Those of us who pay the disproportionate share of taxes will take any 4 continguous states ...
Nah, you already have Galt's Gulch. It's in Colorado somewhere. Under a magic ray screen. What, they didn't tell you where? Awww.

I'm working three jobs right now, douchebag, to pay for shelter, food, and heat as well as kids' college. What's your point??
Posted by: ceu at February 28, 2009 10:13 AM
Jim:
Blaming Obama for the economic crisis we currently face is a lot like blaming Chesley Sullenberger for crashing that plane. It doesn't work that way.
Posted by: Seth at February 28, 2009 10:19 AM
@Mike...
How about we split it between the 57% who voted for Obama and those that didn't?
I'm sure the demographic for those who voted for the man does not fit into your idea of "fruit loops".
@Jim...
Um...I worked three jobs while going to college and was supported by a single parent that made about $20k year.
Don't y'all just love sweeping generalizations and stereotypes in the morning?

That's an awesome idea! You can have Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota. That's nice big chunk of land that ought to cover the population who wants to join your seccession movement. What? Too cold? Maybe you'd all fit in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. They already have a nice selection of white sheets waiting.
Posted by: imaginista at February 28, 2009 11:35 AM
I wonder if this dude realizes that secession is treasonous.

fe -
Treason is what they do. They spent 30 years trying very hard to turn this country into a fascist dictatorship and effectively succeeded for the past 8. Most of the so called neoconservatives have never compared the neocon platform with the National Socialist platform and the Italian Fascist platform. If they had, they would have realized that neoconservatism is code for fascism. It's the favorite political system favored everywhere by the privilidged wealthy and corporations.
I really wish that they would secede. I'd rather watch them goose-step into the future without me. If they enjoy be screwed by Bill Gates and Warren Buffet then I don't mind watching as long as I'm not one of the screwees.
The wrong wing has been so thoroughly brainwashed they just can't see the truth and how the U.S. is being destroyed by corporatism/fascism. It's like watching people getting machine gunned cheering for the people that gave the order. Pathos abounds.

Jesus H. Christ.
Have these people ever had a formal education? Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Posted by: sammyscooge at February 28, 2009 12:44 PM
I should have also pointed out that it is entirely possible, if not probable, that our wrong wing commentors above are actually Koch sucking shills paid to post the fascist party line to liberal political blogs. Since those posts are rather what I would expect from an astroturfer I can't help but think that these are not trolls but paid shills. They may or may not even believe what they post, they post it because they are paid to.
I love the smell of astroturf. It's the smell of opposition desperation.

Mississippi is the blackest state in the union, why would we want all the racist plutocrats to come here?

You are right, we wouldn't want to get in the way to your black cock fetish of gender dysphoric libs. Can't help but notice how Chris Mathews starts to drool whenever he talks about BO!
I am looking forward to watching your great experiment collapse, just like everything else a libtard touches ala California (yea yea yea its a Republican governor....but a democrat legislature with the most liberal policies in the country).

Bob,
I'm not sure this will end with tea bags. The wingnuts really have their ire up. I'm concerned for kool-aid, tang, and even cocoa. The depths of their anger seems to have no bounds. Spices could be next. Lock up your spice racks, you've been warned.

Jim you are a bone fide idiot and I hope that someone smacks some sense into you. Don't you care that real people are suffering because of the toxic policies of the past 8 years? You are an insensitive lout and just a silly willy man. I hope that you get acne and the drug store runs out of medicine and you learn what it is like to suffer like I do. Idiot!
