On one side, there's President Obama. Extending his hand to the other side, right or wrong, whether it's on the recovery bill or his cabinet posts.
On the other side, there are the Republicans. Refusing to be anything but the partisan hacks and wackaloons we've all come to know and distrust.
Ultimately, I don't mind that Senator Gregg has dropped out. But this is yet another indication that the Republicans have no intention of meeting the president halfway on a goddamn thing. They will, in fact, attempt to sabotage the president at every turn because it's their nature.
