Lessons In Civil Discourse - Part 2

Mocking fellow anchors using an effete voice? Go!

Criticizing the Democrats for being too nice? Perfection!

Using phrases like "bitch and moan?" Civility!

Passive aggressive comes to mind.

This guy is unwatchable.
"no no no nono".
absurdum interruptus.

Nice... Bob, hopefully you are busy writing a nice smackdown for this douchebag. Go!

I know I'm in the minority, but compared to the other republicans, Joe often comes across as reasonable and progressive. I wish they were all like him.

Hey, remember the time Joe Scarborough said,"Fuck you" on the air? That was both classy and civil! Here it is:

Seems Joe has a history of acting like a petulant child when his ego gets kicked around a little bit. He whines, confronts, lies, calls people names, and then threatens to sue them if they don't kiss his ass. He went after the moderate independents in 2004. It's an illness with man and others like him. He needs medication. Here it is:

Btw, there's nifty little thing that Joe and the rest of the right wing propagandists do ALL the time and it's this: psychological projection (or projection bias) is a defense mechanism where a person's personal attributes, unacceptable or unwanted thoughts, and/or emotions are ascribed onto another person or people. According to Wade, Tavris (2000) projection occurs when a person's own unacceptable or threatening feelings are repressed and then attributed to someone else..[1]

An example of such simple behavior would be: blame for failure, making an excuse for your own faults by projecting the cause of said failure onto someone else, hence blaming them and not accepting the reality of the failure. One would argue that you are projecting the threatening feelings.

Hey Bob, what do you have against mommies and babies?

Do you like how before JS complained about being called a bad name, he said
1) I like Obama
2) People who criticize me also criticize babies and mommies

As if by stating those things up front it gives empowers him to be a big crybaby in the rest of the post.

It really is a pretty pathetic rant. I was half expecting him to say he wasn't goint to post on huff post anymore because of the nasty things people say. Talk about your cut and run.

He's a big one for talking about 'Scarborough's rule' (when democrats attack, attack democrats). This is the same. You're right to call him on his shit. If he doesn't say it himself, then he'll throw the ally oop pass to buchanan or halperin (sp?) or othrers for them to spew the shit. He'll let that go unchallenged and openly challenge, and often mock, the opposing view's "loyal opposition".

The only defense I will raise is that I do feel that they have more sense of fairness than other outlets...however, we all understand how
ridiculously low that bar is.

Sorry, I went on so long. Oh, by the way. Tell me again how you are against mommies, babies and all that we cherish?

If you watch Morning Joke you will find just before he really lays into someone.. he will use his version of the Southern "bless their hearts".

"I really like (insert name)" then lambast them for whatever he thinks they have done that day.

That's his trademark...lol

Did you catch the moment early in the clip about Iraq? When the topic is al-Maliki's statement that the American forces should leave, Scarbo says, "Let's get the hell out and start spending money on Americans." Like maybe with an economic stimulus?

Posted by: Francis Zuccarello at February 21, 2009 1:09 PM

Francis -

What he was really saying is: "Let's get the hell out and start spending money on American Corporations."

As if we haven't been. Money spending that might even accidentally help a citizen is socialism. We'll have none of that.

I must be a fucking masochist. I swore to myself that I wouldn't watch that video. But it kept staring me in the face like the fucking tell tale heart. Damn you, Bob Cesca!

Posted by: Broadway Carl at February 21, 2009 3:12 PM

Oh, for goodness sakes.
Give it a rest Bob.

We all know he's an ass.

What's worse is thinking of his sniveling scrunched up face giggling cause he believes he got under your skin with a single HuffPo blog.

Posted by: Cody at February 21, 2009 3:52 PM

why can't Obama close the deal on lying?

Posted by: policitcal party pooper at February 21, 2009 4:58 PM

Cody - I think you got it backwards. Bob upping the ante probably has Scarborough's panties in a bunch. That thin-skinned pansy can't take the slightest criticism. It's obvious by the tantrums he throws on his show.

Pile it on, Bob. I wan't to see him make good on his threat to stop posting on HuffPo.

Posted by: Broadway Carl at February 21, 2009 6:51 PM

Bob - I'm hoping your next HuffPo post will be a rebuttal to the Scar along with all the examples you're giving us today and them some. Maybe include a challenge to debate him on his turf.

Posted by: Broadway Carl at February 21, 2009 6:55 PM

ADDING... that is if it's okay with Arianna and the HuffPo comment "moderators," of course.

Posted by: Broadway Carl at February 21, 2009 6:57 PM

Fuckers over there doing the scrubbing of comments remind me of how I ended up here. I double dog dared Joe (in a nice, clean way--though I did refer to his fan commenters as drooling at his feet and not having read the original post by Bob) to invite Bob on his show and discuss it all. Scrubbed, as usual. That place is becoming intolerable as far as interaction goes. I give up.

Posted by: dontpanic23 at February 22, 2009 1:05 PM

Shuster was not even talking about Joe to begin with. Scarborough thinks what everyone says is about HIM.

What a big baby. That was so ridiculous I'm wondering if Joe had been drinking.
