President Obama

Obama Bipartisanship

Robert Gibbs today:

I saw some of Senator Collins's [R-ME] remarks on one of the cable channels earlier today, and she said she'd had a good conversation with the President. And the President had, in some ways, convinced her that we needed a package that met the size and the scope of our problems.

I think that's bipartisanship.

Exactly. Especially the "good conversation" part. People are running around all over the damn place suggesting that the president somehow promised half-and-half legislation. The president promised civility, and he's delivering civility. That doesn't mean he can't take a stand or push his agenda to the letter.
