Ah, so this is why the wingnuts don't think Bush ripped up the Constitution while he was in office - they've confused it with the Declaration.

Love the fact Limbaugh also mentions freedom AND liberty as if they're two totally different things. (So he's screwed up the WORDING as well). This level of stupidity is truly hilarious but headache-inducing at the same time.

On Morning Joe, Mika said this morning that perhaps the Rush speech was not the most productive, but then said "Don't get me wrong, I LOVE RUSH. He's a great communicator. He's a great thinker." And no, she wasn't being sarcastic. I read that her and Joe are the lead in to Rush on WABC(?), does anyone know if that's true? It just seemed like a very exuberant defense of someone who had previously made fun of Mika for getting mugged.

Pat Buchanan (gag me) was just on MSNBC saying that he hopes Obama succeeds in Iraq and Afghanistan, but he hopes his domestic policies don't go through because it is too much spending." Even though I hate Pat, I can take that arguement. That's the problem with the "No, Rush was just saying that he hopes Obama's POLICIES fail" argument...I really don't think he's talking about that, he would not be glad if Obama's foreign policy succeeded, etc. I honestly remember hoping that Bush would be palatable when he was first elected, even though I'm a Democrat.

The "I hope he fails" thing isn't even the thing about Rush that bothers me...it's the other comments, like making fun of Michael J Fox, Barack the Magic Negro, saying that Obama is Arab, etc, that bothers me the most. The rest is just the regular RW talking points to me. And he claims that "liberals" get hyper defensive when Obama is criticized for policy points, but whenever a Republican disagrees with Rush in public...it's "under the bus" with them. Chuck Hagel, Colin Powell, anyone who thought Jindal did a bad job the other night, etc.

Rush leads a party that HATES education/science.
Rush believes he is an intelligent man because he speaks falsehoods well.

RahmBo is going on the offensive to paint Rush as the leader of the party and Rush is such an easy target that it is truly a winning strategy. We are going to see four years of President Obama campaign against Rush/Hannity and it will be glorious.

I'm right between QT and the potato here. Yes, he's just a kid and kids do and say and believe stupid things. However, he is a brainwashed tool as well, which is demonstrated by his support for Palin and Romney. Only someone brainwashed by ultra right wing nut jobs could possibly support either of those two particularly Palin. To me, that's proof positive that he's no wonder boy or great thinker beyond his years. He's just a smart kid with a good enough memory and grasp on communications to be convincing when spewing the putrid right-wing nonsense.

It's funny, there are tens of thousands of tweens and teens doing charitable, socially aware work across the country and no one hails them as "wunderkind". You get one Alex P. Keaton on the scene people go apeshit. Is it because we've been trained to believe that caring actually is juvenile whereas wearing a tie and spouting off about capitalism and freedom is so much more adult?

I somewhat agree with this statement. But again, he would be even easier to paint as an out of touch ELITIST than McBush. Romney's cabin(Fucking huge mansion) was broken into and his wife's jewelry was stolen and she had to ask her "jewelry assistant" for help to determine what was stolen.

However, his money isn't a weakness. This asshole lent himself millions of dollars during the campaign like it was nothing.

Can he really be considered brainwashed if he's the smartest person in the room? Not that the kid is exactly a supergenious but his generic conservo-babble is on par with anyone they've got. Which is more about the republicans lacking the nuanced thought of say, a college freshman (no offense, 18 year olds) than him being a serious wunderkind. It kind of makes you wonder what the exact age is when conservatives decide it's okay stop learning and just go with catch-phrase flow. Based on our kid here, I'm revising my original estimate of 'out of high school' down to 'out of middle school.'

Oh and Sen. Jim "Creme" DeMint is one of his favrorite people so uh...so awesome, I guess...

I have the flu and have been consuming a large quantity of fluids, as called for.
One result of this is the URGE (you know, to go).
The snow is melting and dripping constantly outside of my window, and I have probably made 25 bathroom trips since 7 a.m.

Other than that, though, I'm great. Oooo, and MSNBC just spent a few minutes mocking Rush's doof quote.

Difference of opinion is welcome. Mindlessly spouting unsupported opposition talking points without basis is not.

I read nearly everything William F. Buckley, Jr. ever wrote. I seldom agreed with his position, but I always learned a lot and was able to see things from a different point of view. I considered him a very thoughtful and worthy member of my society whose ideology differed from my own. He was not my enemy.

On the other hand, Rush Limbaugh is an ignorant propagandist whose intent is to polarize and paint his opposition as 'enemies'. Buckley used logic and reasoned arguments. Limbaugh dictates and pontificates and suppresses opposition arguments.

We welcome the Buckleys and shun the Limbaughs.

I just don't believe Rush when he claims that he is talking about policies...sometimes I believe that he would love a terrorist attack so he could blame it on Obama...maybe I am just basing that on some other twisted things he has said though, hopefully it's not true. As I stated upthread, the "I hope he fails" thing bothers me less than other things he has said. And I do think that his "under the bus with you!" talk for any Republican who disagrees with him is hypocritical if he is some champion of free speech.

Last I heard everyone has freedom of speech.
Everyone does have freedom of speech. Even you and Rush.
Lot of speech I can't stand but have to tolerate.
You can turn the channel, ignore the website, or not read that paper. You don't have to read my comments here. You could go to www.freerepublic.com instead.

The difference with Rush is that he is the only thing on AM Radio to listen to in many rural sections of this country. He is using the public radio spectrum collectively owned (SOCIALISM!) by all citizens as his soap box. I get GDAB and/or a soap box in the park as mine. When a person who is regularly caught lying shits all over my airwaves I reserve the right to call him on it.

First off, thanks for the link because I needed a good laugh, and here's why this video is funny.

1) His first two minutes talking about how nobody questions Obama, we're all drinking the Kool-aid, etc, if you didn't know who Rush was and the context of the interview, he just as easily been talking about Bush II. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Republicans did not veto a single bill until it came to stem cell research.

2) How does nationalized, or hell even socialized health care mean the end of the country as we know it?

3) If universal coverage means the end of our country as we know it, would it be such a bad thing for all citizens in the wealthiest country in the world to have health coverage? Would it be so terrible to not have to worry about whether your insurance will cover a specific procedure? God forbid people feel secure in their old age!

4) Please tell me what we don't know about President Obama. Rush keeps saying we know nothing about him. We only like him because he speaks well and and looks good. Perhaps it's not just that he speaks well, but we like what he has to say. By the way, he's also an excellent writer.

5) I love his use of the term "Left Wing Kooks." It's kind of like Bob's term "Right Wing Nuts." The difference is that the left wing kooks believes in science, the right to privacy, the separation of church and state, EVERYONE has the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The Wing Nuts believe that government should stay out of your life except when it invades your uterus or marriage.

6) Why would I care how much money Rush Limbaugh makes. I earn enough to support me, my wife, and soon to be daughter, have two cars and a house. How much more do I need? If I was Rush I'm sure I'd need plenty more to support my sex vacation habbit and Oxycontin dependency.

One last piece of info for you, we all make more than a thousand of our ancestors because our ancestors go back to a time before money, and even recent ancestors such as my grandfather weren't paid very much because he began work in 1922. I now make more in an hour than he made in a week. What you probably meant to say was that Rush makes more than me and a thousand of my decendants. Believe it or not I'd rather be happy than rich and I would hope the same for my decendants. If you care to take the time you'll find there is no positive correlation between wealth and happiness.

My bad, I didn't mean to use a big word for you. Correlation essentially means connection. Being wealthy doesn't make you happy.

Rush Limbaugh is an undereducated, convicted drug user. Why anyone pays attention to this glutton, other than the fact he plays to the Religious Right in order to support his large ego, is beyond me. The problem with the right is they are so self indulged, they can't see that people like Rush or Ann Coulter are simply using their antiquated thoughts to make money...lots of money!
