In the Tank!

MSNBC just did a bit criticizing President Obama for "doing too much" and a bit about the "Obama Recession" complete with that misleading Dow graphic.

All in one segment.

Why is MSNBC in the tank for Obama?

CNN just did a similar, "Why is he trying so much when he needs to focus on the economy?" story. Damn, liberal media.

I can't believe we didn't even make it through the first 100 days before people forgot what it was like to have a president who didn't try; someone who only wanted to make things better for his party and his cronies and had this twisted belief that that was somehow better for the country.

But then these are people who find it charming that Reagan referred to his normal business hours schedule as burning the midday oil.

These media dum-dums are tossing intellectual spaghetti at the damned walls.

Why didn't they do segments entitled: "Is President Bush not doing enough?" or how about: President Bush: Should he be on vacation this much during his first term?"

But no! They never did shit like that, no because Dubya was just like us. He was they guy you wanted to have a beer with. It showed that he was an ordinary American, enjoying ordinary American things. But let President Obama get photographed drinking a beer at a basketball game and there's an uproar that he is having too much fun during a national crisis, when on the contrary he and his team have been working their asses off, whether you disagree or agree with what they've done so far, to fix the mess that, oh what do you know, Dubya left behind and didn't "do too much" to try to solve it.

I would rather my president, Republican or Democrat, do too much, than too little. I would rather have my president give forth and effort that to act as if he or she doesn't care. I would rather have my president actually DOING things that presidents ARE SUPPOSED TO DO - like work.

There are some people who feel he's not doing enough. So either way, no matter how hard he is trying to get things done, he can't win. I hope the American people realize and appreciate how hard he is working because the media won't.

MSNBC isn't the only network doing this. They all are.

Our media is now very busy remaking the Republican party into an image they can sell. I once accused them of doing the same thing for the Democrats.

Here's my theory: Mainstream Media needs the two parties to be strong. If the Republicans are shown to be as inconsequential as they really are, the networks and news outlets will lose viewers. Division sells, and our media is buying stock in it. Pathetic.

PPP - you hit the nail on the head!

Complaining about it, unfortunately doesn't work. The insidious nature of the "liberal media" fallacy means that if the media criticizes a liberal public figure, it must mean they're doing something so terribly and obviously wrong that even the liberal media picks up on it. It does not indicate that the media is not liberal.

It's a variable stimulus reinforcing feedback loop.

Our media is so unbelievable--this "doing too much" BBQ narrative may be the most inane thing they've ever come up with--all the "in the tank" villagers are doing this. I have boycotted cable news except for KO and Rachel. Shame on them--maybe if they lost their jobs, they would wake up.

And the mini-rally that's going on right now? Oh, that's cause Citi stated a profit.

But, how can we attribute that to Obama? This is the type of question to leave MSNBC folks scratching their heads.

After all, they put so much thought into the putting blame on O for the shrinking Dow.

MSNBC has to have a story and to get ratings it has to be a negative story. So the fact that the president is doing the things he promised that he would do and is doing them expediently is somehow turned into a bad thing.

Its just assholery ratcheted up to a whole new level.
