So Chuck Norris is calling for a violent overthrow of the US Government and that Texas will be the capital.

Copy and paste that long link.

Happy birthday, Chuck Norris! (And why do you hate America?)

Posted by: jane at March 10, 2009 7:01 PM

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JANE!!!!

(and fuck Chuck Norris)

Posted by: Kat at March 10, 2009 7:02 PM

Chuck Norris is made out of stupid.

Posted by: Kyle at March 10, 2009 7:04 PM

Kyle, I hope your Jane is an ignorant slut. Can't wait to see your work on a big screen.

Posted by: jane at March 10, 2009 7:10 PM

Aren't all Janes ignorant sluts?

Posted by: Kat at March 10, 2009 7:15 PM

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JANE!!

But I have no clue what you're saying to me right now. I had a long day at work; I'll re-read it a few times and maybe it will make sense.

Posted by: Kyle at March 10, 2009 7:17 PM

Factoid:
On this day, in 1977, scientists discovered rings around Uranus.

Posted by: Kyle at March 10, 2009 7:27 PM

Tim, that made me sick. I haven't even gotten any of the birthday cake (Jane's, not Chuck's) and now I will Up-Chuck it--ah, sorry. (Fuck you, Chuck, and I hope you choke on your cake).

Funny how these same idiots sat through the burning of our Constitution by Bush/Cheney and company like that was just business as usual. But NOW they want to riot in the streets.

*I need a beer and a cigar**dammit*

I've had it with the Republicanastycals newfound fiscal conservatism. They are criticizing the crazy borrow and spend rampage that *THEY* went on and now we must stop this irresponsible spending now that it is being spend on things that benefit citizens as opposed to shoveling mony at corporations.

Republicans need to be locked up.

Posted by: SillyRatfacedGit at March 10, 2009 7:41 PM

Happy Birthday to Jane, my fellow Pisces Monkey! (Remind me to tell you a story about how that astrological sign cost me a couple hundred bucks on a stripper named Phoenix. Zodiac sign FTW! W = Wallet.)

Posted by: Redmond at March 10, 2009 7:42 PM

Red, you keep threatening to tell that story and never following through.

Oh, and thanks.

Posted by: jane at March 10, 2009 7:44 PM

(Someone explain why I can't have cake & ice cream for breakfast and leave work early every day??)

Posted by: jane at March 10, 2009 7:46 PM

Tim, not to worry.
Since they'll need to file the proper permits to mount an insurrection, we'll have plenty of warning.
Plus, Rush will be shouting incessantly about it days beforehand.

Posted by: Packy at March 10, 2009 7:46 PM

Kyle,
>>I have no clue what you're saying to me right now.

Something about a screenplay and a character in need of a name. Sheesh.

Posted by: jane at March 10, 2009 7:49 PM

Jane, I have?

Oh, right, I drink a lot.

Posted by: Redmond at March 10, 2009 7:51 PM

Lordy, jane, that was two or three days ago. I can't remember that far back.

And she is definitely a slut--not very ignorant though.

Posted by: Kyle at March 10, 2009 7:53 PM

Jane, I found the perfect gift for you - to use with trolls!
or maybe this one
or both!
Happy birthday!

Posted by: ceu at March 10, 2009 7:56 PM

Heh, the 2nd cat is The Kid after destroying the fan for Jane's birthday.

Posted by: dontpanic23 at March 10, 2009 7:59 PM

Goddamn awesome, Chris. Although when you want to spank some fucking childish troll, a LOLcat is perhaps not the most threatening messenger. I'll save those for use on youse guys (with love).

Posted by: jane at March 10, 2009 7:59 PM

DP, this is the reaction of The Kid. No matter what he has broken. Goddamn cute fucker.

Posted by: jane at March 10, 2009 8:02 PM

Ok, so Ed Schultz was filling in for Shuster on 1600, and Shuster is filling in for Olbermann.

Will Olbermann host Rachel's show?

Posted by: Kyle at March 10, 2009 8:03 PM

Kyle, that would stick Rachel on one of those Doc-Blocks. A disturbing thought.

Jane, that's so cute it makes me want to buy you a new fan with a little bow and a sweet, expensive card signed "The Kid".

Posted by: dontpanic23 at March 10, 2009 8:05 PM

DP, don't be suckered in by those big innocent eyes. He's quite capable of thrashing The Fat One and That One. It's all an act.

Posted by: jane at March 10, 2009 8:09 PM

And if Rachel was on a Doc Block, I think certain fans would be typing one-handed tonight.

Posted by: jane at March 10, 2009 8:10 PM

Rachel for three hours? Pure heaven.

And I likey the linkses, Chris. I imagine we'll see those again.

Posted by: Kat at March 10, 2009 8:13 PM

Jane, I'm always suckered by eyes like those. It's why my older dog does whatever she pleases and my younger one has a home here. My boy-child has lost that look and would benefit from finding it again.

Posted by: dontpanic23 at March 10, 2009 8:14 PM

Got this at work today. Was pretty fucking awesome.

But I do my best to ignore them.

BOOBS AND BEER?

Posted by: dontpanic23 at March 10, 2009 8:26 PM

Posted by: dontpanic23 at March 10, 2009 8:29 PM

Oooh, Git. I'm on the way there. Forgot to check back. I think you're one of the only others to go back. Or to admit to it.

Posted by: dontpanic23 at March 10, 2009 8:30 PM

I haven't seen GI all day. He may be traveling. I can't even imagine him going postal, unless he runs into Rush.

Posted by: SillyRatfacedGit at March 10, 2009 8:37 PM

The "armed revolution" thing is just disgusting.

But anyway, here's something nice to make up for that ugliness - an excellent interview between Oprah and Rainn Wilson (The Office).

The 'Dwight' guy likes to whip out Binaca or a comb while talking to you. Ewwww. Take that shit over there.

Posted by: jane at March 10, 2009 8:45 PM

Running into Rush could do it.

The pastie looks lovely. I may have to make my own meat and potato version of that.

I only spent one night in England--on an airport couch at Gatwick. I was visiting Scotland so I was treated mostly to fried everything. There was a fish 'n chips truck and a fried snickers and ice cream truck. I could barely fit in coach for the trip back with all the artery fattening (and the goose-egged knees made that worse--a long story of a mischievous spirit in Stirling Castle cemetery). We didn't eat out a lot because of our money being cut in half the moment we entered UK airspace. My son-in-law is a great cook so we had a lot of roasties from the new crop of potatoes--Royal New Potatoes? New Royal?

Thanks for the explanation of the pudding. That was baffling.

Posted by: gypsy at March 10, 2009 9:47 PM

I think the Obama negativity is mostly the fascists pouting that they couldn't through the election because too many people voted for Obama and they can only swing a 2 or 3 % change in the election count. They thought it would be closer and that they would get their next dictator in place and solidify the dismantling of the constitution and making an emperor president. Obama winning has seriously fucked up their plans.

The fascists are doing everything they can to preserve our government of the corporations, by the corporations, and for the corporations. They must block and sabotage everything that Obama is doing because that fool is returning the government to the people's control. They can't allow that.

Note that some of the fascists are democrats.

Posted by: SillyRatfacedGit at March 10, 2009 9:51 PM

Here's what Lou Dobbs said about the stock market today(I was wondering when Obama would get "credit" for the 300+ point gain. Dobbs twists logic into some sort of pretzel: "Today is the VERY first day President Obama has NOT said something negative or dire about the economy, and look at how much the stock market gained!" WTF?

I wonder if Dobbs ever finished the box of "Obama Waffles" he bought during the election.

Posted by: AdyLeigh at March 10, 2009 9:57 PM

Hey.. MSNBC has a live vote up.. give Pres. Obama a grade.. 84,084 have voted and 58% have given him an F, it goes way down from there.. it needs to be brought up... Please go vote...guys.

I have a fire burning in my brain! Last night Lee posted about Ayn Rand and this post showed up later on (sadly few saw it):

"Let me say up front that I am writing the following message from a libertarian perspective, just so there's no confusion.

"First of all, what we have in the United States is no where near a free market, and it really doesn't surprise me that our highly centralized federal corporatist system that we currently have just doesn't work.

"Libertarianism may have been a White Guy's Idea of a Good Time back in Ye Goode Olden Days when "Colored Folk" picked up society's slack and did all the heavy lifting for Whitey, but these days it's just a thinly disguised excuse for racism and disdain for Poor People. I loathe Libertarians."

You don't know what libertarianism is at all. Racists may like to delude themselves by calling themselves libertarians, but they aren't libertarians at all.

""Go Galt"? Check."

Ayn Rand herself despised libertarianism, and I'm not here to defend Objectivism, so I'll leave this alone.

"Tea Party wingnuts? Check."

You used that one picture of the sign holder with a sign regarding tea bagging to dismiss the entire Tea Party protest thing, without even analyzing or refuting any of the ideas behind it. There are usually people who choose to do things in bad taste in every crowd, but it doesn't make the real reasons why they were there wrong.

"Alan Greenspan's belief in an unfettered free market? Check."

Greenspan is a false poster boy for free markets. It's easy to use him as a straw man to dismiss all free market ideas. I don't feel the need to defend him.

"Climate Change Deniers? Check."

I agree, they're completely lame.

"Aggressive Limbaugh-ish free market defenders? Check."

Limbaugh's a racist idiot.

"Sorta meek but equally hardcore Ron Paul-ish free market defenders? Check."

Why do you feel the need to group Ron Paul supporters in with this other crap? What's wrong with defending what he stands for?

Finally, the last two on the checklist are not worth discussing seriously, so I've left them off.

Posted by: mmortal03 at March 10, 2009 3:54 AM

Now I wish I new how to 'block quote' but I don't!

I just want everyone to know the level of absolute "nuttiness" we're dealing with!

Thank you for thinking about us :)

Posted by: veralynn at March 10, 2009 10:57 PM

Greetings veralynn.

You didn't kill it. Kansasdem gave us a book to read.

Kansasdem considers libertarians to be a threat to life as we know it. I'm not keen on libertarians either even though I used to be one. I consider socialism to be a more realistic political ideology.

mmortal03 is a libertarian.

Posted by: SillyRatfacedGit at March 10, 2009 11:01 PM

Hey Git!

I am glad I didn't link, my eyes would cross!

I can't imagine you being libertarian Git...I will have to consider that one.

I tend to favor semi-socialism....my own word, I think. I like some of the socialist ideals, but find some others untenable in the US.

I would just like our current generation (in the span of our history sense) to be more like they usd to be. Meaning, they all knew they worked for us and compromised and didn't alienate the "other side of the aisle" as have been done since 1984 . robert Walker, Newt Gingrich and Vin Weber created the atmosphere we now have.

Back before tham, members used to have lunch and dinner together, their families socialized with each other and they got things done. It was not a perfect system, but it worked for the majority of Americans. That is what I want out elected officials to understand again, they work for the betterment of American society as a whole, not a little group over there and and another one over here....but all of us. I know people don't remember those days, but I do. I want those times back.

I call that semi-socialism

what do you think Git? Viable dream of merely fantasy?

Posted by: veralynn at March 10, 2009 11:13 PM

*Back before "then"
was meant for that spot of the post

Posted by: veralynn at March 10, 2009 11:15 PM

I agree that Congress has been much less able to accomplish anything useful since the big polarization of parties in the 80s. I blame the GOP. They are unwilling to compromise. When they talk, all they talk about is to demand that we do things their way. This is unacceptable behavior.

I do not want a single party system. We need a multiparty system. The two party system has outlived it's usefulness.

I'd like to see the following parties.

Conservative.
Theocratic (probably called Republican).
Fascists (or Corporatist).
Conservative Democratic.
Liberal Democratic.
Green.
Socialist.
Libertarian.
maybe Labor.

I want the Republican/Deomocratic agreements on Presidential Debates turn up so that all party's candidates are included.

I'm still pissed that the debates did not include Barr, McKinney, et. al.

I won't hold my breath waiting for this to happen, but I don't expect the Republican party to exist as it does right now for more than a few years more.

Posted by: SillyRatfacedGit at March 10, 2009 11:48 PM

from your typewriter Gt...lol

ok, I cannot keep my eyes open aany longer. have a wonderful, no stress, evening

Git, I will thnk about those party ideas, I agree we need more than 2, but I will have to do some research.

thanks
