What's The Damn Difference?
Chris Wallace the Insufferable:
WALLACE: I do want to point out though just as a point of information, that Rush Limbaugh says, and I think if you read what he says, he wasn’t saying I want the president to fail. He was saying I want his policies, his agenda to fail and that he disagreed with them and thought they were bad for America.
The level of FOX News crazy is breaking over the levees.

Right, exactly. And if you'll really pay attention to what I said several months ago, I don't really want Rush Limbaugh to "die," I simply want his respiratory functions to stop functioning, his heart to dry up like a raisin, his over-taxed digestive and bowel systems to wither on their corpulent vines and the drug-addled synaptic tissue crammed between his porcine ears to cease all electrical activity.

Noone could have predicted that.

Goddamn it, Elvis! What's wrong with drug-addled synaptic tissue?
You fucking well take that back!

Chris, @$$hole...
If HE fails, WE fail.
But obviously your Party matters more than Country...
Take your 'point of information' and insert it where all your other facts come from.

These goons want to separate their ideology from their patriotism. What these fuckholes are too blind to realize is that you can't hope Obama's policies fail to prove your wingnut ideology correct and win in 2010 or 2012 if there will be nothing left by then. Hoping Obama fails and hoping Obama's policies fail are not mutually exclusive and in fact are the same exact thing. Even Newt Fucking Gingrich said as much on Meet The Stretch today.
REP. GINGRICH: I don't think anyone should want the president of the United States to fail. I want some of his policies to be stopped, but I don't want the president of the United States to fail.
Disagreeing with policy and wanting them stopped or thinking that it will fail is completely different from HOPING it will fail. Destroying the village in order to save it is ridiculously stupid - and it seems that this is the foundation of the Republican party in its current incarnation.

This from the people that would attack any Democrat for anything they said as "Hating
America/Wanting the Troops To Fail/Wanting Us to Lose in Iraq" and would do so unrelentingly. Now all of a sudden they've discovered nuance.
Here's my contribution. I don't want Rush to fail. Rush Limbaugh needs no help from me. He's already a failure of a human being. He's already a failure at human interaction. He's already a failure at self-control. Like Elvis, though, I wouldn't mind see the rest of him catch up.

Elvis:
You have stolen the sentiment I was all itchy to express upon hitting the "comment" button.
Further, you pour salt into the wound of my now-aborted comment by expressing it better than I probably would have.

That Damn Dingeldein™ didn't leave us much to say did he? Elvis has been holding back on how much he dislikes the Lush Rimjob. He should tell us how he really feels.

Believe me I would never defend Fox News or a dangerous racist liar like Rush Limbaugh, but lost in all this hoopla was his statement that he doesn't want the actual economy to fail, only Obama's policies. Yes, it's pretty much the same thing but it's kind of like those who said they wanted Bush's Iraq policy to fail while having no one die in his war. These are some of his actual words last week. It's clear he's backpedaling because this is not what he originally meant to say(transcript from his website- forgive me God for actually going there):
"I don't want economic failure. I don't want the kind of pain and suffering that we have now to get any worse. It's the exact opposite. I don't want this economy to get worse just so people learn the truth about Obama. It may take that, I hope not, because if it takes that, we may not have enough power left to gain control of our economy the way it was. But I don't want the economy to fail. I don't want people losing their jobs and being kicked out of their houses. I don't want people going on welfare and unemployment just for people to realize what a mistake they made with Obama. I want Obama to fail, not the country."

Jeff, that's a bunch of crap. Please show me quotes (*besides Lee's) saying "I want Bush's Iraq War policies to fail."
Once again, there is a difference in WANTING or HOPING policies will fail and critically analyzing the policy to draw the conclusion that you will THINK it will fail. Because I think something will fail does not mean that I hope it to fail.
Douchebag Limbaugh can backtrack that fat fucking ass of his all he wants. He said it, it's out there and he can't take it back. And he's still saying he wants Obama to FAIL. That means Obama's ideas. That means Obama's policies. That means financial collapse.

Yeah, Frum's article (at Newsweek) is a must read. His analysis is outstanding.
I don't like the guy's politics, but he's a smart fellow and he nailed this topic.
Posted by: SillyRatfacedGit at March 8, 2009 4:18 PM
Rush did say he wanted Obama to fail. I heard him say it.
Typical of Fox news to change the wording and deny what was said. O'Reilly and Hannity deny all the time what they have said.
And no, Democrats did not say that they wanted Bush to fail. We wanted the war stopped and Bush/Cheny IMPEACHED.
It was the republicans that accused Democrats of wanting the president to fail whenever his policies were questioned.
The republicans equated questioning with failure, not the Democrats.
Posted by: Diane at March 8, 2009 4:21 PM
What the heck does it mean to want the policies and not the president to fail? They want the plan to fail, but him to still remain overwhelmingly popular, or? I mean, if the policies have to fail, I guess I want that too. Thanks Republicans!

Uh, Jeff...
In your efforts to be an apologist for both George W. Bush's and Rush Wimpbaugh's fuck-ups, take some time to reflect on the fact that you addressed that bullshit of yours in the presence of critical thinkers on the Internet, and not a roundtable of media dorks on a Sunday morning talk show trying to fill multiple televised segments with scripted windbaggery, ok.
Posted by: Lexaburn at March 8, 2009 4:31 PM
suh-nap™.
Sorry Jeff, but Broadway Carl is correct.
Posted by: cgwalt at March 8, 2009 4:52 PM
Wimpbaugh and the media dorks encourage one another. That's why idiots like Matthews continue to exalt Wimpbaugh for "staying in the headlines" for doing nothing. This all started on the week of the inauguration when Wimpbaugh began his desperate cries for attention and disturbing display of absolute envy. He declared on his radio show that he wanted the new president to fail on his radio show. He went on his vain prick friend's show, "Hannity," to give a twenty minute interview that boiled down to his begging for attention from the "liberal" media that supposedly exalts Obama for the fact that he's a black man. He wrote an incredibly stupid article in the WSJ that promoted the states McCain won seceding for the Union, leading to his exaltation as dictator, which entitles him to half the money proposed in stimulus package. Wimpbaugh cried on his radio program that Obama sought HIS failure. President Obama dropped his name at a meeting with the very GOP nitwits that bitterly tattled to the public (and Wimpbaugh himself) like a bunch of bratty little girls looking for sympathy.
Than a week later, this fat bitch's media dork enablers begin pretending to be intrigued by the Rush v.s. President Obama saga, as if isn't completely obvious that these dorks got a corporate memo to cast Wimpbaugh's screeds as legitimate counters to President Obama's aganda, not a political con man disc jockey mumbo-jumbo.
These assholes in the "liberal" media really don't know how dimwitted they look nowadays, do they. They are intellectual sluts, they are.

I recall leaving a message here about a week ago where I doled out the steady pattern for these timid con-servative trolls. They always preface their little defenses of con-servative bullshit with meager claims of being against the stupid shit they proceed to support throughout the rest of their message.
This "Jeff" falls into that category.

You liberal fucking socialist scumbags need to die. I hope that shitbag poor excuse for a human being Obama fails, because only his failure can bring me any hope for success. His success means failure for ALL OF US.....But Im sure you commie assholes cant wrap your brain around that!!!

Liberal Hater -
The world looks much better when you pull your head out of Limbaugh's ass.
His success means failure for ALL OF US.....
Please provide some evidence to support this totally outrageous claim that has no basis in fact outside of some neocon/fascist delusion. You really should stop with your meds, they are not working. The neocon policies have destroyed this country already. Perhaps trying something else it the thing to do. If you don't think so, then you had better convince a lot more people to vote for your guy. In the mean time go fuck yourself.
But Im sure you commie assholes cant wrap your brain around that!!!
You seem to be the one the having difficulty with your reality perception algorithms.

I forgot to mention that it's you fascist goose-stepping assholes that need to go somewhere else and take your hatred of anything that is not exactly like you with you. I don't particularly care for the way you uphold and defend our constitution by using it as a doormat.
You're such a loving bunch of Klansmen.
Posted by: SillyRatfacedGit at March 8, 2009 5:44 PM
Oh, boy, a anonymous twit calling himself "Liberal Hater" shows up to express his hatred of perceived liberals.
That's some completely original shit, right there.
Idiot, you failed when you left the womb, so deal with it and quit blaming the "liberals" for your shortcomings.
I tell you all that these con-servachumps have derived a strategy of bullying people that couldn't care less that they exist. They let the "liberal" media gas their heads with because they're so easily persuadable.
This "Liberal Hater" moron will NEVER come back, and if he does, let's hope that the unarmed citizen he seeks to shoot during a temper tantrum offline overpowers him and puts him out of his misery.

Well it's late and I don't know if this will even be read. Carl, Lexaburn, others....I've been called a lot of things but conservative troll is a first. I'm surprised and mortified that my post came across that way.
Just so you know, this is the first website I check every morning, as well as about 10 times a day. I post here on an almost daily basis, and was among the posters who vehemently disagreed with Lee on his Iraq comments.....go look it up.
I've been on Obama's bandwagon since his speech at the 04 convention and the next day I told a friend of mine that this guy is gonna be pres one day. I campaigned for and contributed to Obama, protested the Iraq War, and hate Rush Limpdick with every ounce of hatred I can muster and have quite enjoyed the republican circular firing squad concerning him. I was just curious who was aware that he has in fact backtracked. So now when Fox News reports that Rush doesn't actually want the economy to fail, they have a quote from him that they can use, and I was wondering what the response would be from the crowd here at Cesca's GDAB. I guess I got my answer.

I didn't think u were a troll, just taking the bait.
Fox transcripts are, at best, approximate when ir suits. They're not news, they're not ethical. They're Ailes.
