Y'know, it occurs to me: If what the teabaggers are protesting is the high government spending, and saddling their dear children (y'know, the one with the bedroom next door to the gun cabinet) with enormous deficits and long-term debt, shouldn't they be supporting paying HIGHER taxes?

The comment moderation on Huffpost is really getting bad. But on your blog in particular,Bob, they seem to have hired a winger to mod. It's depressing when half your comments disappear and you made no personal attacks, etc.. argh.........

ok for one thing...right on about your huffington post...i had to go into town today meaning the next town from where i live about 25 miles... anyway there they were in front of the only 2 show movie theatre...i wanted to slow down and ask for a show of hands who voted for bush and also accepted his blood money of a tax bribe before he split...but i looked at there faces and frankly i got scared...it remined me of the womens movement in the 70's very unlike the movement in the 60's...well those 70's people peddling petitions really really i think hated men...call me selfish but i just wanted equal bread for the same job and still wanted to be treated like a princess...anyway i live in far west texas and reponding to your communist remarks about obama...well while at our library i heard the librarian and a teacher talking about how the children dont understand that he (obama)is a marcist...that was the straw that broke the camels back...i thought i could save this town from itself but im outa here...maybe we should all just put on our humanist hat and take it from there because the institutions are broken ie education, politics, religious, economics, judicial and with no one driving the train i fear the light at the end of the tunnel is most likely... well a train...thanks for your words and you are quite a wordsmith at that...i really got a boost of energy from it...today has just been like a monday at every turn...thank you...peace out...rachel

Can we just call this what it is -- racism on the march? I would dearly love to see the Democrats or progressives launch a coherent campaign linking this whole "movement" to racism. It's simple: all the usual litany of complaints are being rounded up as cover so a bunch of fucking right wing lunatics can scream coded racism about Obama. The reason these people weren't protesting taxes before is because this isn't about taxes. It's about racism.
