I don't miss my car at all. Groceries are across the street. There is a doctor, dentist, liquor store, cinema, restaurants, dept stores, and bars all within a 10 minute walk. I take the bus everywhere, and a cheap taxi if I don't want to take the bus. Express buses and trains take me to other places.
It's the American suburban model that makes owning a car a necessity. Even electric cars use valuable resources, and burning coal to charge the batteries to me is not really green.
