Morning Joe

It's day 346 of Nancy Pelosi coverage on Morning Joe.

Wow. Hat's off for some balls out coverage. They're really blowing the lid off this thing especially considering how Speaker Pelosi had absolutely NOTHING to do with the Bushie conspiracy to use torture in order to produce false evidence for war!

Seriously, we can pretty much count on MSNBC's morning zoo crew to embarrass themselves with this story -- until, that is, there's some secret communists to be exposed or, you know, another Reverend Wright tape.

Adding... Jon Meacham on Morning Joe:

"It takes a great deal of political ineptitude to get on the wrong side of the Iraq question. And yet the Speaker of the House has managed to do that. You know, I mean, with due respect to everything about the struggle there, the people that have sacrificed there, and the importance of that. But to get on the wrong side of the intelligence question at all -- and this is more about the war on terror -- but it's just really amazing."

You know what's amazing? How very serious establishment media people like Jon Meacham can be so thick as to continue to cover this stupid distraction story rather than doing their job for a change.

There are so many things wrong with this statement. The Iraq question? The intelligence question? He means the torture question but is too afraid to say it, and Speaker Pelosi, as the only ranking lawmaker ballsy enough to speak out against Bushie torture and in favor of investigations, is politically inept to be doing so? Granted, she wasn't the smoothest operator in that press conference, but Meacham was talking specifically about her position -- not her "performance." Just disgraceful.

Mika is making herself available for speaking events, to promote her "upcoming book". I think that the website got the title of her book wrong (Sometimes vs Sometime), but the description of Mika is so ridiculous. Desperately grasping for gravitas. And Jon "the country is center right" Meacham can kiss my ass.

The show has definately jumped the shark.

I watch it just for the amusement factor.

Tsk, tsk, tsk. Since when has the media been about asking tough questions and getting to the bottom of things, to reveal the truth? The days of Woodward and Bernstein are long gone and now we've just got milquetoasts who wouldn't know how to ask a truly pertinent or expository question if it hit them upside the head. The media isn't biased toward a political ideology, it's biased toward sloppiness, apathy and sensationalism at the expense of genuine stories. I know I'm preaching to the choir, but this charade has gone on for too long and has played a hand in many deaths that could've been avoided if these people had just been more vigilant and investigative

>>>The show has definately jumped the shark.

This assumes it was once a good show.

I missed it. I heard Ventura was going to be on Hannity but I didn't realize he was appearing on Morning Joke™. Can't wait for some video.

Scarborough is absolutely ridiculous. Someone should seriously take him aside and ask him if he's in favor of torture for political purposes because that's all this was. Trying to get false confessions of an Iraq/Al-Qaeda link. AND THEY STILL COULDN'T DO IT! It had nothing to do with a ticking time bomb scenario.

This is not a left/right issue. And the MSM needs to stop trying to shoehorn the debate as a left/right issue. There is no debate. Torture is wrong and America does not torture.

I just "tweeted" @JoeNBC (and used your line, Bob - it fit nicely in the 140 character format.)

broadwaycarl@JoeNBC Congratulations on defending torture to a man that actually went through waterboarding and served his country in Vietnam.

broadwaycarl@JoeNBC :"Maybe they'll fire me and I'll take my money and go to Florida." We should be so lucky.

Bob's quote:

broadwaycarl@JoeNBC Real story: Pelosi had absolutely NOTHING to do w/ the Bushie conspiracy to use torture in order to produce false evidence for war!

I would have attibuted it to you (don't want to commit a MoDo) but, you know... 140 characters...
If you have a Twitter account, you should do the same. Let Scarborough know that torture is not what we do.

and sometimes he responds! But he's usually fairly pissy - shit like how "you libs see things in black & white". Still, it's kinda fun. :)

No answer from Scar yet, but he did post two "tweets" (I hate using that) which I responded to.

JoeNBC Bob Schrum may just be a regular on Morning Joe. He is a fighter but never takes the debate in a personal direction. Too much fun!!!

broadwaycarl@JoeNBC Schrum never takes debate personally. Unlike you. "Perhaps Jesse should stop smoking whatever he's been smoking & keep mouth shut"

JoeNBC Democrats seem to be adopting a strategy of defending Speaker Pelosi by accusing the CIA of being habitual liars. A questionable approach.

broadwaycarl@JoeNBC The debate is not abt Pelosi. If she's guilty then she should go too. The reasons for torture is the real story. Not a Lt/Rt issue.

I'm obviously not expecting an answer. He did respond once very early on, but I doubt he would consider defending torture to a peon like me.

AMERICA -- Just tell us what we want to hear and we'll make the torture stop.

Go Carl!

Still no answer from the that beacon of patriotism, the intrepid Joe Scarborough. Here's my lastest "tweet" to him.

broadwaycarl@JoeNBC Maybe you should stop relying on your "CIA souces." You're wrong AGAIN and it's getting embarrassing. http://bit.ly/lt7tL
