Morning Joe

This was from yesterday, but it's never too late to call out Joe Scarborough for spreading false information:

I can tell you, I've got numerous contacts within the CIA from my days on the Hill that say, at least outside of Iraq, that question was not asked of Khalid Shaikh Mohammed. That question was not asked of Abu Zubaydah, some of these people early on.

From your days on the Hill? Fancy! You arrogant turd. But it looks like your so-called CIA insiders are misleading you. Or you're just lying about having CIA insiders. Whichever. Read the Intelligence Committee report here and you'll discover that both Abu Zubaydah and KSM were, in fact, tortured for information about a fake Iraq/al-Qaeda connection.

I'm watching that bozo right now and he still hasn't mentioned Pete Hoekstra. It really pisses me off that this hack can cherry pick what he want to talk about and if it hurts the GOP image or talking points he just ignores it. He actually used 2 clips of Nancy Pelosi from Rachel Maddows show to try and drive home his point that she's changed her story repeatedly. I really can't stand him. Why didn't his Star Search Spokesmodel Mika mention the fact that the CIA had the Peruvan millitary shoot down a plane thought to be drug smugglers? It turned out to be a missionary and her 7 month old daughter.

Joe is beyond pathetic. I hate to challenge anyone's masculinity, but the douche is asking for it. . . he would never be man enough to have Bob or Jesse Ventura on his show to 'discuss' this issue.

Posted by: Clancy at May 20, 2009 8:41 AM

By the way, he just had that Eddie Munster lookalike Paul Ryan on and Ryan was using the same talking points that the Republican stratigist Luntz suggested the Republicans use when talking abourt healthcare. Framing it as a government take over. I think Ed Shultz showed a clip yesterday of several Republican tools on the Senate floor using the exact same terminology. I hate the Republican party and hope they lose another 10 seats in 2010. I'd like nothing more than to see these dishonest bastards banished to political hell!

He is also claiming he is still getting info from people in the CIA and from Congress that he suggests is or should be above his security level. For him to imply, his briefings in Congress are the same level as the PDB's are just false I believe.. but I could be wrong about that. Someone correct me if I am please.

If that is happening, and I really don't think it is, that would be a MAJOR security breach and someone needs to call him out on it.

No one, and I really mean NO ONE, should be getting security briefings from the CIA or Congress unless they are actually part of it, and it sure as hell shouldn't be an idiot talking head on TeeVee.

Great point Clancy! I was so annoyed yesterday when he talked all that smack. I suppose it's easy to do when Ventura isn't sitting there. The way he talks to his Star Search spokesmodel Mika is infuriating. Of course, she's a woman so I guess he's sticking to his weight class. I myself and the kind of woman who would cut him down to size. I wouldn't take that crap from anyone without making it real uncomfortable for them. I love a spirited debate and would shut him down easily. This is why I can't stand the Star Search spokemodel. She doesn't defend well. Unless it's that moronic mother or the year and trailor park queen Sarah Palin. She defends this tool but, willingly joined in the bashing of Pelosi.

Posted by: roxsteady at May 20, 2009 8:51 AM

And, no, I don't believe he's getting any briefings from anyone. This is just posturing. I suspect that most of the people in the CIA that he knew aren't even working there anymore. Was it 1994 that was his last year in politics? Anyway, judging from all of the sloppy, inaccurate information that the CIA is putting out now, I wouldn't believe a word they said or wrote. Those memos and notes are a joke. They all but admit that they can't vouch for the accuracy. I really wish that MSNBC would just get rid of him. Faux news is doing very well with the wingnuts. They don't see the need to present any Democratic shows or points of view and CNN with their down the middle strategy has slipped to third behind MSNBC so I don't know why they have this show on their network.

Posted by: roxsteady at May 20, 2009 8:57 AM

Why wouldn't they ask them those questions?

The connection wasn't made. It was however, investigated.

They have to have him on to show they aren't too much over the top. Remember they have been accused of being the "Obama Network" so by having the Joke on they can say, truthfully, we have a critic of the President on our network, we aren't all about loving him.

Or that's my take on it.. I am not sure what the ratings are.. I haven't seen them so I can't say.. but I don't believe they are all that high for the time slot.. but I could be wrong.

my personal fav this morning was him repeatedly repeating that Pelosi was contradicting herself by saying (paraphrasing)"the CIA told us about the techniques, but didn't say they were using them" and "They said they'd tell us if/when they did use them". He called the two statements incongruous & insisted that she was lying by saying one of them "So which is it, Nancy? Were you told or were you told you'd be told?" in that Joe tone of voice. No one pointed out to him that the statements are totally compatible...

>>>The connection wasn't made. It was however, investigated.

There torture techniques are designed to elicit false information, so when they used torture to "investigate" this connection, it was done so in order to falsely confirm the connection.

Posted by: Bob Cesca at May 20, 2009 9:21 AM

They, however, did not falsely confirm the connection, no matter how badly you wish they did.

Posted by: rob at May 20, 2009 9:34 AM

Regarding the Pelosi incongruity, the minions on the right are literally smearing Pelosi over her getting a bit flustered during the press conference and stumbling a bit on her words. Never mind the fact that she had press dogs attempting to instigate a fight for sensationalism's sake. Also, as ceu noted, her statements have not changed at all.

This whole debacle is yet another example of the right attempting to bully someone through a smear campaign. This is obviously what they plan to do throughout the next year leading up to the elections next year. They are absolutely sickening in their mock pugnacity.

As for Scarborough, just watch this here clip to see him put in his place:

Scumborough is a lightweight. Just because MSNBC attempts to force his show down your throats, that's no grounds to take his bullshit act seriously.

I can't take watching Joe another day! I liked the show during the election, even though Joe did piss me off a lot, but I can't watch it anymore....Mika is absurd. The way she gets so enraged over someone drinking coke, but just sits there and looks into the camera when Joe is spouting off his horseshit! I'm switching to CNN in the morning!

Posted by: Kelso75 at May 20, 2009 10:40 AM

They, however, did not falsely confirm the connection, no matter how badly you wish they did.

You are wrong. There was no connection to confirm, hence confirming it was false.

The only evidence supporting such a connection was obtained by torture and is inadmissible as evidence.

Hence, no evidence exists to indicate such a connection unless you are invoking intelligent design again and are seeing things that are not there.

Morning Joe has "jumped the shark" Scarbourgh has gone around the bend (finally). Though I liked watching the show during the campaign, I can't stand watching it anymore. Please retire the whole crew and replace them with...wait for it....IMUS in the Morning.
