WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?
Posted by: GItheJOE at May 4, 2009 6:37 PM
That's some fucked up shit right there, Joe.
Posted by: Broadway Carl at May 4, 2009 6:40 PM
We call this a Court Martial in the US Army.
Here is a good idea, try to convert Muslims into to Christian during armed conflict. This has never gone wrong in the past, in the past, in the past, in the past, in the past, in the past, in the past, in the past, in the past, in the past, in the past, in the past, and in the past.
We are on the thirteen Crusade? Right? I have lost count.
Posted by: GItheJOE at May 4, 2009 6:41 PM
Yeah GIJoe I saw that earlier today before I was about to go to lunch and I nearly lost my appetite.
"We hunt people for jesus"
Every single one of them buying into that can go fuck themself. I dont give a shit that they volunteered and joined the military. It was clearly for the wrong reasons. And I find it absolutely perverse and disgusting that tax payer dollars would be funding men wearings american uniforms killing for jesus. Every single one of them should be discharged and the church that sent them the bibles should be defaced. I would deface it myself were I near it.
It makes me livid.
Posted by: J M Ashby at May 4, 2009 6:44 PM
The GODDAMN MILITARY OFFICER is talking about breaking General Order Number One. WTF? How can this be swept under the rug. Jesus Christ Super Star.
You know this leads to more questions, like when would Jesus try to break the law? GODDAMN MOTHERFUCKERS!
This is one of my hot button issues with the Army. A fucking Christian can nuke a whole village in the name of Jeebus and will get a slap on the wrist. If I as a Pastafarian, open my mouth about or walk away from a FORCED PRAYER SESSION I get my ass handed to me, like Christ would.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!
Posted by: GItheJOE at May 4, 2009 6:46 PM
Ashby,
That asshole Chaplain meant "hunting" as in "bringing" people to Jesus, not killing them for Jesus. However, as a fucking a Soldier it is not only morally wrong but operationally stupid to push your religion on the Muslim community in their home town. This epic fucking fail.
Posted by: GItheJOE at May 4, 2009 6:50 PM
Hey JOE, whatya know? ;-)
Posted by: Mike H. at May 4, 2009 6:51 PM
Other wingnut news for today:
Limbaugh says the GOP doesn't need a rebranding. A rebranding which isnt really a refranding at all since it is lead by a Bush and McCain.
Joe the WannabePlumber says he wont let gays anywhere near his children. (this man has children? I feel sorry for them)
"Just 21% of GOP voters believe Republicans in Congress have done a good job representing their own party’s values" -C&L (so the republicans havent been extreme enough? what?)
Posted by: J M Ashby at May 4, 2009 6:52 PM
Hunting for Jesus? Bringing to Jesus? I dont see a difference because to me it is a question of motives for being there.
Posted by: J M Ashby at May 4, 2009 7:00 PM
nothing gives me the creeps more than a palms to heaven, closed eyed singing christian. i went to a christian rock concert with a friend's family in middle school. scared the shit out of me. people fainting, screaming, crying...it was crazy.
Posted by: gypsy at May 4, 2009 7:05 PM
21% and falling.
Lush Rimjob does not think a rebranding is needed. Calling the Neocons NeoNazis is unnecessary since everyone already knows that the Neocons are fascists.
21% and falling.
Their core competency is bitching and moaning. Answers to issues we face are not forthcoming. They have no answers but they'll bitch and moan 'til the cows come home.
21% and falling.
Have they told you he uses a teleprompter?
21% and falling.

well, hell, not-joe the not-plumber, gays don't want to be near your kids either. shee-yit.
hey, gi the joe! haven't talked to you in a while.
Posted by: fe at May 4, 2009 7:13 PM
GI did not go to Iraq to be a "fisher of men".
"We hunt people for jesus"
What. the. Fuck?
Did jeebus send them a telegram saying he wanted them to hunt people? What arrogant assholes are claiming to be speaking for Christ? Jeebus would prefer if you stayed home and left those people alone and deal with removing the lumber from your own eyes.
NeoCrusades indeed. Fucking ChristoFascists.
Posted by: ∇•B=0 Silly Ratfaced Git ∇•D=ρ at May 4, 2009 7:19 PM
Joe, that is indeed some fucked up shit, as Carl so eloquently put it. The goddamn crusades in Afghanistan. In a US military uniform. Just fuck me dead. I've seen it all.

I'm volunteering first, DP.

The 21% number is not a valid number to use to state the percentage for the nation as a whole. That number reflected the percentages in that survey only. You can throw it around if you like, but it has no meaning beyond just that survey.
The number you should use is a much more accurate number, as it actually sets out to measure just what the ratios are. That number for the Republicans is down, but it stands at 32.6%

rasmussen is consistently an outlier poll. try again.

I don't blame you, DP.
Posted by: fe at May 4, 2009 7:32 PM
Nice try, but this is now the Obama era Military.
Obama owns the Afganistan issue. Afterall, He made it point that the previous administration fucked it up over there, and He was the only one that could fix it.
Crusading by the troops, is only the first highlight.
Posted by: Tommy Boy at May 4, 2009 7:40 PM
Did someone say something about Rasmussen?
I'm over here having an orgy with Kat and was therefore otherwise occupied, and rather pleasantly at that.
The poll I quoted was an approval rating not a percent of people registered as.
It is rather telling when less than two thirds of your party's members approve of what you are doing.
Keep up the great work Republicanastycals.

FE-
Ok- use Gallup who did more than 350,000 interviews to arrive at their data.
You can see the breakdown by state. You will see that the 21% number doesn't hold up at all.
http://www.gallup.com/poll/114016/State-States-Political-Party-Affiliation.aspx#2
Use 21% if you want, it doesn't mean anything. If you understand anything at all about statistics you know that a survey with 350,000 people that set out to measure party affiliation is going to be superior to a survey of 1,400 people in a survey that did not specifically set out to measure party affiliation.
Posted by: PlTrack at May 4, 2009 7:57 PM
If the Rebublicans move far to the right, away from shit like this, then they have cover.
So, suck it.

I just saw that clip of Rice saying they waterboarded because they were "absolutely terrified" of another attack on the country.
Terrified? really terrified? Isn't that the whole problem here. Fear. I wasn't terrified of that, but I guess a lot of people where. However I dont think the leaders of the country have any business being terrified. It is their job to respond appropriately to situations, not to be scaredy cats.
Posted by: J M Ashby at May 4, 2009 8:07 PM

I am not talking about the number of registered Republicans.
The 21% number I am using is an approval rating.
The 21% number was statistically valid.
You are now on ignore.
Posted by: ∇•B=0 Silly Ratfaced Git ∇•D=ρ at May 4, 2009 8:14 PM
Oh, for fuck's sake, another neocon troll with reading comprehension problems.
Here, ArmP|T, from your own beloved Rasmussen: Just 21% of GOP voters believe Republicans in Congress have done a good job...
As SRG and others have said, the 21% figure is an "approval rating," not about "party affiliation." Go back up to the original quote by J M Ashby and see if you can figure it out.

Posted by: Tommy Boy at May 4, 2009 8:19 PM
So watching 3,000 americans die was the "worst day" of Rice's life, but oh you know... a million dead iraqis is no big deal.
What a bitch
Posted by: J M Ashby at May 4, 2009 8:23 PM
Tommy Boy:
Yes. You are correct that Obama now owns every pile of crap that Bush left behind. I'll concede that.
He even owns the Onward Christian Soldiers™ problem now.
Are you happy?
Posted by: Wolfe Tone at May 4, 2009 8:25 PM
Ashby, to be fair she said it was the worst day of her life in government, which presumably means that she's had worse days than that in her life.
I keep wondering if she sucked it....
Posted by: ceu at May 4, 2009 8:29 PM
You really have to wonder what exactly is going on in Rice's head
She claims they were terrified, so they used "enhanced interrogation tactics" but this was done years after 9/11. Where they "terrified" for years?
She claims they would not authorize anything illegal, but clearly they did. Did she not get the memo or what?
Its constant self contradiction with her. Shes either a liar or she is completely stupid.

Benito was a socialist, much further more accurately a facist (facist italy) Silly, if you don't call them left on any terms your smoking something.
21% will beat you in 2012. It burns you up, but you know a conservative will come through to correct all this dog crap going on right now. Because Obama know the car business...And war, i thought this guy was going to bring our troops home, as a wise man once said (admit it, you listen..everyday) put a pile of bullshit in front of a democrat and he'll step in it.

They still own your Mom's uterus though and they are going to use it to crank out hundreds of little new Nazi Republican children so that they can cement their permanent majority and rule the U.S. again, then the whole world.
They will go on to drive Jesus down everyone's throat using torture if necessary. It will be a glorious Authoritarian Orgasmatron Reich and everyone will hate everything about it and be totally unable to stop it because the Constitution will get disposed of for being in the way of inflicting religion on people that don't want it. Also the Constitution prevents you from killing people that disagree with you which is very inconvenient when you are a dictator that many people disagree with.
Yes. It will be a glorious and wonderful future for whomever is the Der Fuhrer. Not so good for anyone else.

Only the current ill educated wrong wing fascist scum call the fascists and Nazis anything but right wing. They were called right wing in the thirties, forties, fifties, sixties, seventies, eighties, nineties, and then suddenly the neofascists decided that the original fascists were lefties.
See what I mean J M? They are to the right of the goose-steppers already and they even admit it.

And, when to comes to Faith matters, I'd rather it be as it is, then have to denounce Jesus Christ in order to believe in a political movement.
It's funny how the Government is slowly replacing GOD. For me, it's not a matter of GOD being in the Government, but that the Government is no reolacement for GOD.

They have created an entirely fabricated surreality with its own history rewritten to completely ignore the horrendous fuck ups of Republican presidents while making shit up to demonize Democratic presidents all the while completely ignoring science if it conflicts with their religion or gets in the way of making a buck by raping the planet's resources.
They live in a fucking fairytale. I hope Repunzel kicks their asses.

Sorry Tommy Buoy if you think I am antiChrist. I am only anti the people that try to illegally inflict their religious beliefs on everyone such as the anti-abortion and anti-gay marriage bigots.
I am not anti Christ and you might be shocked to discover that most democrats are, in fact, Christians.
I think that many people calling themselves Christians have no business doing so. Their actions prove that they missed Christ's biggest points.
Since you clowns don't understand what Fascists are, I will switch to the term Authoritarian. It captures all of the important points.
I went throught this whole left/right fucking insanity a couple of weeks ago. I am tired of that stupid fucking talking point. I have a degree in political science and learned from books written by people that spent their lives studying things like this that Fascists were extreme right wing, just like your stupid party. If you want to believe that is wrong because some ignorant jackass like Lush Rimjob said the Fascists were leftests, then do so. It still makes you an ignorant fuckwit.

J M -
They rewrite history. Fascists have always been right wing up until they became left wing when Lush wanted to us it as in insult against Obama. Commie and Socialist weren't working.
Fascist didn't work very well either because most people know that fascists are right wing and hence the insult made no sense. The only people that thought it was an insult were indoctrinated with the new Bizarro world 'facts'.
The surrealism of the wrong wing is getting worse. They are almost completely divorced from reality.
I hope that this is not an indication that something bad is about to happen. I wonder if they are going to "take back the country that the Democrats stole from us." I am becoming distinctly uncomfortable have to explain over and over again that up is not down. It's not just here either.

Tommyboy - I run potential support away from my cause? What cause is that? Is using logic, reason, facts, and history to make decisions a cause? That shouldn't be a cause, it should be a foregone conclusion. But for people like you, it isn't.
I don't recall ever calling for an athiest reform movement either. I wouldn't need to call for one anyway even if there were my perogitive. Somewhere in the vicinty of 34% of the country do not currently have a religious affiliation.
This means that 34% of the country have cast away the shackles of a religious society that exist souly to keep people down. This number will only continue to grow as more people realize that they are capable of judging themself instead of relying on others to do so.

It's just that when people talk about the left not being "Christian" (since Christianity appears to be the only legitimate religion to most of them) or of hating religion, I am reminded that the basic tenets of liberalism are pretty much the same as the basic tenets of Christianity - love your fellow man, take care of those less fortunate, make sure everyone has enough to eat, and wine makes weddings more fun.

it appears that way at the moment - Rob Simmons has launched a campaign & rumor has it that Rell might make a run for it. If she does, she's got a good chance of beating Dodd - expecially 'cause The Courant is not in Dodd's corner & is definitely in Rell's.

Ceu, my friend(I hope), my husband buys the lottery tickets twice each week. So far, the largest amount we have won is $50. If we hit the "big one", I will share it with you. The amount would have to be negotiated with the hubby, though!
Love from The Minx
P.S. Anyone else that would like to share has to be considered on a person by person basis :).
Posted by: Teh Minx at May 4, 2009 9:53 PM
Did Dodd ever find up his loan docs? That was not a plus for him.
Posted by: RockandTroll at May 4, 2009 9:54 PM
ceu,
I think we can agree on that, but when some consider all people who have faith to be from the "Bizzaro World", or that we believe in "Space Zombie Overlord, Jesus", it becomes a tad bit offensive.

GI,
WHAT THE F@#k ARE YOU TAKING ABOUT.
Yes, there are some scary religious Zealots out there. But, I think that's true for most religions. But, it's not a common thing for most of the mainstream believers, Who only differ on some core issues.
Posted by: Tommy Boy at May 4, 2009 10:03 PM
CockandTroll,
Good one. You can stay.
Posted by: GItheJOE at May 4, 2009 10:04 PM
You are so full of shit Tommy Boy. I dont think all religious people live in Bizzaro World nor did I ever say that. You probably dont even get the Bizzaro reference anyway. YOU associated what I said about facts being different in Bizzaro World to Religion, so I guess you're just projecting at this point.
You come in here saying Obama is the cause of a chaplain in Afghanistan handing out translated bibles telling soldiers to hunt for jesus. You are afraid of government replacing God.
You certainly live in Bizzaro World thanks to a lack of facts and reason. Your faith only serves to enhance your delusion.

I thank you all for offering to share your as yet non-existent fortunes. You're the best.
Tommy - i would not call myself a person of faith, However, I do believe that if Jesus existed, he was a good man who set a good example to live by. And that's good enough for me. I don't need to believe there is a kind OR vengeful figure overseeing human actions. There's no way a compassionate god would allow the horrible suffering of those in need simply for its own amusement.
And Jesus would be crucified all over again by today's so-called Christians.

bad girl fe?
Posted by: fe at May 4, 2009 10:12 PM
Core issue:
Gay marriage?
Islam doesn't have the same God as Christianity?
Daughter sold into slavery?
Raping wife in the name of Jesus?
Are you not a WARRIOR of GOD?
Jesus is better than Medicine?
Earth 6000 years old?
Man lived in fish's belly for 3 days?
Talking Snake?
Evolution is bullshit but Pig flu has been around forever?
My question:
Why are miracles only within the limitations of what is conceivable to man?
In other words, why does God hate amputees and love the salamander more?
Posted by: GItheJOE at May 4, 2009 10:14 PM
close...bad faith
Posted by: RockandTroll at May 4, 2009 10:14 PM
are you referring to the existentialist idea of bad faith (which I assure you, I do not exemplify) or are you saying that I am an atheist?
and...you're an idiot. who the fuck wanders around a website giving new names to people who disagree with him? what are you, five?
Posted by: fe at May 4, 2009 10:20 PM
ceu -
I like Rell, but I'd rather see her in the other Senate seat. Dodd is not the one that needs to be replaced.
Tommy -
The Bazarro world has nothing to do with faith. It has to do with republicans getting all of their information from sources that feed them lies on a continual basis. These idiots believe this shite they are fed and live in Bazarro world where fascists are left wing, up is down, and black is white. It has to do with political propaganda, not religious faith.

Hey, Rock & Troll! How are things going for you? Have you come up with a Delta name for me yet? Or can I be one of the Jackie Kennedy look-alikes on the float? I loved when the woman in the Playboy Bunny outfit landed on the boy's bunkbed & he said "Thank You, God!" I love Animal House. As for GI, the name of Jane is taken & believe me, you won't want to argue with Jane for it.
@fe, R&T had an excellent discussion with Git on Sat. This person is ok by me.
@GI, hahahahaha! That one it truer than you think!

damn, I haven't see Ghost in the Shell in years. I should give it another chance.
Posted by: fe at May 4, 2009 11:06 PM
JM
Yes, but the kind of "Pole" that applies to the slang version of Minx, can be found in a certain kind of club......it's a double entendre.
Posted by: RockandTroll at May 4, 2009 11:09 PM
Ah, I guess my mind doesn't work in such subtle ways. I would have simply said Pole Dancer. I suppose Pole Cat has more depth to it.
Posted by: J M Ashby at May 4, 2009 11:12 PM
Fe - Ghost In the Shell is easily the greatest anime ever concieved, you should deffinantly watch it again. I would actually go even further and say it is the most deep and intelligent series ever. Animated or otherwise. The second movie, Innocence, fascinates me the most.
Posted by: J M Ashby at May 4, 2009 11:15 PM
No poles in the right hand plane.

I won't judge Ghost in the Shell without seeing it, but I'd say Cowboy Bebop should be pretty damn high on that list.

GI, You always make me laugh! When is graduation? I'm so proud of you--Lieutenant the Joe to be!!

Hey theres nothing nerdy about Ghost in the Shell. Unless a deep interest in the future of psychology and politics are nerdy.
Posted by: J M Ashby at May 4, 2009 11:22 PM
That "Tea Party Slogans Repository" site is misnamed. It should be called the "Political Platitudes Repository". The bulk of the content can only be described as platitudes. They apparently confuse platitudes with cleverness.

Posted by: fe at May 4, 2009 11:28 PM
Well in that case Fe..
You can find all 3 movies and both seasons here:
Original Movies
Innocence
Solid State Society
SAC 1st Gig
SAC 2nd Gig
http://www.mininova.org/search/%255BBlitz%255DGhost%2Bin%2Bthe%2Bshell/seeds
To download them youll need a torrent program
http://www.utorrent.com/
To watch them youll need VLC player
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
All of that is free. And dont feel bad about downloading the movies and seasons freely because its difficult to even find them in a store and if you do they may not be english. These are english and high quality.
If you're truly a nerd you should be able to manage that ;) Enjoy
Posted by: J M Ashby at May 4, 2009 11:28 PM
Fe, nerdy gets cooler as you get older. Look at Elvis, Bob, brother and Nate Silver. All great minds and have a toy lightsaber in their bedroom.

Hey JM Ashby-- Would you please tell me how to download a torrent? Will it work on a Mac or do I need to put it on a PC? I can't figure this one out to save my noodle!
Dear Git, Would you please hook me up with an easy site for HTML mark up for comments? Something really simple? I would love to be able to put in a trademark symbol or the two dots that go over the "e" in my friend Rice's name.
Thanks so much-- Teh Minx
Posted by: Teh Minx at May 4, 2009 11:31 PM
no, JM, I meant that I can get ahold of them on my own through surfthechannel.com. I just checked, looks like it has all the episodes. I am also quite capable of torrenting and haven't bought a CD in years.
Posted by: fe at May 4, 2009 11:32 PM
My joke about poles and RHP is about the epitome of nerdiness. It don't get more nerdy than jokes about applied mathematics. No poles in the RHP refers to the fact that systems will not be stable if their transfer function has poles in the RHP. Linear systems analysis is a geeky as it gets.
If you wondered about that stuff around my nym, that would be the first two of the four Maxwells equations, in point form or differential form.
The one on the left is Ampere's law and on the right is Gauss's law.
Needless to say, you won't drive me off easily. To drive me off you'll have to start talking about soccer.

Poor thing. About 100 movies, 5 or 6 complete tv series, about 7,000 mp3s. I keep most of it on my iPod though as to keep space on my PC free. I use this page: Character entity references in HTML 4. It lists all of the ISO Character entities. but does not show you how to use them. I pull the entity names from this page and here is how you use them:
¡ = ¡
¢ = ¢
ë = ë
è = è
é = é
ê = ê
™ = ™
© = ©
® = ®
& = &
< = <
> = >
∇ = ∇
the & defines the start of the entity name and the ';' ends it. If the name does not match a know entity the browser displays the name and the semicolon.
♠ = ♠
♥ = ♥
♣ = ♣
♦ = ♦
