Right Wing Extremists
Dave Neiwert walks us through a couple of recent examples of right wing extremism and the motives for the crimes these extremists commit.
Now, I understand that the wingnuts and tea party people were just making loud noises about this because they're, you know, crazy, but in the process of doing so they seemed to be seriously grouping themselves with guys like this:

At least this one does not use false advertising and call himself a neocon.

Is he a member of the Charlie Manson Fan Club©, or is that swastika just an great example of Brand Loyalty™?

This guy is why I couldn't understand the wrong wing nuts were so upset. They WANT to be associated with these people? Right out there in the open...and there are so many people who either don't see it or don't want to. For all the hope President Obama gives me for this country, this kind of thing brings me right back down again.
That sucks.

Since the Plumber guy is out for the GOP, is Joe the Nazi trying out for the job?

The only explanation for people like Bachmann, Limbaugh etc. believing that report meant them when it talked about 'right wing extremists' is that they're all so paranoid they make Nixon look trusting.
Drinking all that Kool-Aid for so long obviously destroyed what was left of their sanity.

I think they are trying to associate themselves with guys like that because they are trying appear tougher than they really are.
They are actually witless cowards hiding behind their titles, but if they hint at violence enough they may just convince themself that they aren't cowards.

Could be JM, but I think its way more simple than that : they associate with him, whether they realize it or not, because he is 'white and proud' like them.

damn Jack, that is just sad, probably very true though
you know if they want power so much you would think they would try to do it a little better. you know, just for cover.

Yeah! Crazy!
Like Beck?
Hannity?
Limbaugh?
Dobbs?
Coulter?
Nearly everyone of FOX news!
This morning on CNN the big question was, "how can we afford universal health care" - followed by the "rationing" argument!
Well, duh! Start by adding up the cost of everyone covered by taxpayer $$$$$$ right now!
Everyone from the courthouse janitor to the POTUS, and everyone that's on Medicare, Medicaid, SCHIP, etc!
Oh and let's factor in the cost of the uninsured!
SHIIIIIIIIIIIIT!

Dead on JM - they are cowards. Just look at tough guy Hannity and his 'waterboarding for charity' crap. Someone, somewhere needs to take him up on that offer.

There needs to be a video of all those recent homicidal nuts together with their wingnut media/political defenders in 1 public service announcement.

I read through the comments to that post over at C&L, and I felt dirty. So many Fighting Keyboardists howling not for justice, but for blood. A digitized would-be lynch mob. It's disgusting.
Oddly, one comment was deleted - I shudder to think what was said, given the 110 comments that remained at the time I read it.
The number of comments describing the accused continually refer to them as "sub-human" which may bring forth the dopamine rush of self-righteousness, but doesn't help anyone or anything. If we see anyone as "sub-human" we surrender the right to call ourselves civilized, let alone liberal/progressive.
I recall an acting class where the instructor related a story about having to play a Nazi doctor. How could he do it, he asked his director. The director replied, "as a little boy, did you ever play with an insect? Pulling legs off spiders, or using a magnifying glass and sunlight to kill an ant, that sort of thing? That's how you see your victims. Not human. Playthings." Sub-human. Deserving of violent death. Or maybe torture? Hey, maybe we could waterboard these bastards. Would that make them feel better?
I apologize for getting a bit ranty, but it bothered me. We have to recognize the human in even the most bestial among us, or we've lost the game. We have to understand hatred in order to combat it. My $.02.
In contrast stand the many reasons I love it here - rational, thought-provoking posts and people. A willingness to question, to toss around and consider ideas rather than surrendering to shallow echo chamber mentality. That and the Morning Awesome ;)

How again are the wingnuts and tea party people who aren't murderers "seriously grouping themselves with guys like this"?
Posted by: mmortal03 at May 9, 2009 3:53 AM
Death penalty is too quick. Lock the creature in solitary with no contact with other people and no chance of parole.
Sorry, but I am fundamentally against capital punishment, though I admit this one makes me consider it.

Wow, insanely disgusting and soooo gooood looking too!

Why are neo-nazi's considered "Right Wing Extremists"? The Nazis were national socialists, and the KKK was historically part of the Democratic base.
If the media started calling nutcases like this left wing extemists people on the left would be pissed. What does this guy have to do with the conservative movement? Is he registered with any political party?
Posted by: Shakes The Clown at May 9, 2009 1:13 PM
Fascists have always been right wing. Nazis in particular. Currently, Limbaugh the closet fascist is trying to convince everyone otherwise. He can't fool everyone.
The socialist in National Socialist does not mean what you think it does. They were corporatists not socialists. In the Nazi government corporations and the government were one and the same.
