MSNBC is reporting that Sonia Sotomayor is apparently the president's nominee for the Supreme Court. Official announcement at 10:15 a.m. EDT.

UPDATE 2: FOX News Channel is predictably making a stink about Sotomayor's "the Court of Appeals is where policy is made" remarks.
UPDATE 3: Regardless of her actual ideological position, it's clear that the wingnuts will attempt to define her as very liberal. But I suspect the sexism, racism and homophobic lesbian jokes will be plentiful and thick, beginning with Limbaugh and prevalent throughout wingnuttia. Women with strong personalities make wingnuts pee in their rubber pants.
