Supreme Court

Sotomayor's Introduction

Judge Sotomayor's remarks were extraordinarily touching. I'll post the video shortly.

But Jonathan Turley is on MSNBC claiming that, "like Thurgood Marshall," Sotomayor isn't very intellectual, and that he's "disappointed" that she's not going to be an intellectual force. Way to give video clip fuel to the wingnuts, professor.

Adding... Also on MSNBC, Stephen Carter, a Yale law professor who teaches some of Sotomayor's decisions in his classes, contradicted Turley and said that (paraphrasing) "one only needs to read her decisions" to know that the decisions are thoughtful and scholarly. He also called the intellectual criticisms "silliness" and said, "I don't even think it's true."
