Wingnut Fail
Karl Frisch from Media Matters completely annihilates a wingnut on the local D.C. political show Weekend News with Chris Core. By the way, I was shocked at how amateurish Chris Core was as a host. This guy has been a staple of Washington broadcasting since I was a kid -- and so you'd think after 30 years he'd be a little more polished and informed.

The info regarding Al Queada (sp?) was obtained by the FBI using regular interrogation techniques. Please correct me if I am wrong. sn't the info obtained by the other guy, can't remember his name. I don't think it was KSM.
And why is the debate whether it was useful. It is wrong and ILLEGAL.
The guy needs to get his talking points clear.
And this interviewer is sad.
The idea that torture is not a recruiting tool is the most laughable talking point I can imagine coming from these people. Of course, Bachmann and Palin will say something tomorrow that will prove me wrong again.
I can't even finish watching this.

"You see how they get off-topic?" How is the no-attacks-mythology off-topic?
For my money, they can go right on calling this a political witch-hunt all they want. Seriously, isn't a witch-hunt something based on false, self-serving, unverified accusations that results in a a false conviction, typically without a defense? There are shit-loads of evidence that torture is illegal and was illegally sanctioned. And with that evidence, the accused has the right to mount a defense. That is not, by any definition, a witch-hunt.
In addition to that, I keep hearing complaints of prosecuting this retro-actively. That's a fucking cop-out. Crimes do not get prosecuted before they happen. They are prosecuted afterward, following the rule of law, and according to the accumulated evidence and testimony.

Love how they label him as "Liberal Media Matters"

Who in the fuck is this guy? What a shitkicker
Torture is good! Woooo torture! Torture is meaningless! Americas image is great! You damn liberal panzies!
I was waiting for him to say "and by the way, I love the cock"
Give me a few minutes in a locked room with him and see if he wants to talk about panzies then.

Now that is a liberal destruction of RW talking points...succinct, informed and fearless bravo Karl...more please

Where was the annihilation and destruction? This is the best you can come up with?

It must be insane trying to eat dinner with a Republican. You want to order something off the menu and they have a taste for baked shoes.
It's like talking to a crazy person.
They lie so much it becomes the truth in there mind.
Delusional would be the word.

It gets to a point where I can't tell anymore if these people are just willfully ignorant or are pushing a campaign for misinformation.
Also, I loved the contrast in body language between the two of them. Karl was cool and confident and the wingnut simply twitched and refused to make eye contact. That's not the posture of someone who knows what they're talking about.

"Love how they label him as "Liberal Media Matters" "
Media Matters is partisan and does not hide it: Media Matters for America is a Web-based, not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) progressive research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media.
It caught my ear as well but it does accurately describe them.

Mike,
Media Matters just posts the videos of these imbeciles and fact-checks them. It is their own words that do them in. "The facts themselves are biased."

"They lie so much it becomes the truth in there mind."
Bingo.

"Karl was cool and confident and the wingnut simply twitched and refused to make eye contact. That's not the posture of someone who knows what they're talking about."
Reminds me of Obama VS McCain debates.

I particularly liked how the wingnut first lied about the LA attack being blocked and then 30 seconds later lied about having just said that. And regarding Moonbeam's question about where the annihilation was, well, it was in the facts. See, notwithstanding the likes of Randi Rhodes, we don't need to scream and spaz out like right-wingers in order to destroy someone in a debate. We have the facts on our side, and I think that was clear in the video.

Matt, that blurb is from the "about us" section on the Media Matters website. I love Media Matters. I check it every day and cite it almost as often. But they have a POV and they don't hide it. That's not judgmental, it is just fact. Just like Fox News has a POV and comes out and says it.

"Where was the annihilation and destruction? This is the best you can come up with?"
Yes, exactly. I was hoping the wingnut would get destroyed but unfortunately I didn't see that at all.
I agree, the interviewer was pathetic.

Wow! I was in Backwardsland while watching that clip. Chris Core? Who the fuck is chris Core and why does he have any media time? I've never heard of that guy before and never wish to see his show again. What a hack.

Just like Fox News has a POV and comes out and says it.
What's that POV? "Fair and balanced"?

>>>Yes, exactly. I was hoping the wingnut would get destroyed but unfortunately I didn't see that at all.
Catching the wingnut flagrantly lying about the Liberty Towers was perfection and more than qualifies as annihilation.
I don't know what else you were expecting -- did you want Karl to punch the wingnut in the throat?
Posted by: Bob Cesca at May 5, 2009 11:04 AM
I wanted to see the wingnut get donkeypunched in his uterus, but him getting pulverized with facts was almost as good.
Gotta love the demeanor of misinformed twatwaffles getting hammered by facts. Facts and reality are not things they are accustomed to.

Well, now that you mention it...kinda, yeah.
