How corrupt is Max Baucus?

One name: David Castagnetti.

No wonder hes constantly kissing their ring.

It's $1,500 a day BECAUSE he's the chairman of one of the two Senate committees tasked with passing healthcare reform.

WTF? Where are the commercials slamming this? I'd like to see the DNC come out and do it. If these assclowns are going to destroy the party from within, perhaps we should be pointing that out!

But, but, but, they need that money for their campaign...after all, every congresscritter spends fifty percent of his day raising campaign financing. He can't help it if the health insurance lobby wants to give him all that money, and by god, just because his plan looks like something the health insurance lobby wrote while high on crack doesn't mean he's on the take. He's a patriot. A genuine, red-blooded American patriot who only wants to serve his country, and constituents. His number one goal, and the thing he never, ever forgets, is that he's been elected by the people, and for the people, and gawdammit, he's gonna do the RIGHT THING, 'cuz the RIGHT THING is the RIGHT THING to do.

Now, we don't wanna hear no more about how our elected officials are bribed into prostitution and more corrupt than a Somalian food supplier. 'Cuz, dogonnit! Being a Senator's a hard job! You gotta just instinctively know what's right, you can't just teach that...you're either born with it, or you don't have it, and our elected officials have it, baby!

Now, I know that you all aren't happy with this little bill of ours, but that's only 'cuz you're all too stupid to know what's best for you. That's why you elected Max and friends, 'cuz they're gonna take care of us, and they know what's best! You should be downright thankful that god gave us such a conscientious, thoughtful senator like Max, who really listens to the voters, and doesn't support a bill until he's damned sure he knows the will of the people!

That he's taken more money from health insurers is nothing to look at. Its just a damned coincidence, and I hope you all know that if Max could, he'd change that in a Montana minute!

I have a question. If judges, even Supreme Court judges, MUST "recuse" themselves if there is a "conflict of interest" - then WHY don't politicians that have taken HUGE sums of MONEY from for example the Health Care Industry also have to recuse themselves from voting on or being involved in any legislation for that industry???? Is that not a "conflict of interest"???? Am I missing something????
