"Do they really need to know, like you said, the date and time that we leave mental stability?" —Michele Bachmann to Glenn Beck on the Census
By the way, it's important to note that Bachmann is very, very confused:
...Bachmann is confusing the 2010 Census and the American Community Survey (ACS), a long-form survey sent out to one in 40 households (0.0028 percent of the American public) each year. The Census, sent out once every ten years, asks only about one’s age, race, and the type of home one lives in. The ACS, started in 1996, collects more detailed data used to distribute more than $300 billion in federal funds to local communities.

God she's awesome! Bachman/Plumber 2013!
It cracks me up to hear her spew out some nonsense and then say, "I'm not saying that's what's happening, I'm just saying that's what happened this other time." How can someone so transparent and so dumb be interviewed about anything ever? How can she be a congress person? Although she does make me laugh, I'll give her that.

Bachmann would know all about leaving mental stability.

She really doesn't have a good record for getting her historical facts correct.
I am not surprised she got this one wrong too.
I just hope that with her fear mongering about the census and her lying about what they are going to do, no one gets hurt.

Wow, imagine what it must be like to be one of her constituents...

Yeah, I could see where she would get those mixed up. I confuse bok choy with cabbage... then again, I'm not a grocer. Although I suppose it's too much to ask that she knows how to do her job seeing as how she can barely glue words together in sentence form.

According to TPM she isn't confused either.. She knows exactly what she is talking about.
Bachmann also differentiated between the 28-page American Community Survey, which only a tiny fraction of Americans will receive, and the short form that everyone gets -- and she objected to both of them. "Does the federal government really need to know our phone numbers?" she asked. "Do they really need to know, like you said, the date and time that we leave mental stability?"
So, she did know the difference and talked about both of them. She is just bat shit crazy.

Does it hurt to be that stupid? I've always wondered. I'll say this though, as long as people like Bachmann and her ilk are lurking about I'll feel like Albert Einstein by comparison.

Minnesota is projected to lose a seat this sentence. I have to wonder if she isn't setting the stage to cry "conspiracy" if her district ends up destroyed or otherwise redrawn so as not to be a guaranteed win for a rightwing lunatic.
