Saturday Night Thread

Open thread for your Saturday night blogotubing.

Question: Why are there so many guys on Fox News Channel with impossibly low hair lines? Hannity, Brett Baier, Napolitano... and on and on.

You're so right Bob and Napolitano looks like he's in mid werewolf change. He's quite frightening! I'm watching the Yankees Marlins game. It's pretty boring. Yanks down 1-0 Yawn! I may need some libation!

Well, at least I am not here alone.. Hey Rox

The better question is why do so many men on TV dye their hair a mixture of grey/white/black in order to look more official and credible. From where im standing it looks like a very silly trend.

Posted by: J M Ashby [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 20, 2009 9:10 PM

Hey Annette! Really what's up with that hair? It's like it's part of their uniform or something.

Posted by: roxsteady [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 20, 2009 9:13 PM

Have you noticed that the women on faux news are all blonds? I don't watch them but, it seems like every woman they show when they're being mocked on late night tv is blond. And what's up with Gretchen Carlson's nose? I've seen clips of her on Countdown. She's got a pig nose like that family on the episode of the Twilight Zone called The Mask. It's more of a snout!

Posted by: roxsteady [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 20, 2009 9:20 PM

Actually, Congressman Henry Waxman's nose is like that too. As you may have guessed by my rambling gibberish, I've got my libation!

I'm just pleased roxsteady knows her TZ episodes so well. That was a good one and a very apt comparison.

Posted by: SillyGit [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 20, 2009 9:30 PM

All the women have to be blonde so all the men will be in love with them.. isn't that what it is supposed to be?

Just kidding now.. but the stereotype you know...I really think that is what it is.. Same for the men.. salt and pepper hair is supposed to be sexy so they all have that, which makes them distinguished, sexy and older more reliable looking.

Oh Yeah! Big Twilight Zone fan. I think the scariest one is the Howling Man. The creepy and frightened monks. The ending is really haunting.

Posted by: roxsteady [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 20, 2009 9:35 PM

Really! I guess they think that all of you guys have the same taste.

Today's attack on the President:

Going out for ice cream while Iran is falling.

Everyone knows that propaganda is best when delivered by a blue eyed blond. The Third Reich demonstrated that to the world and Faux News Channel is determined to stick to a winning formula.

If a brunette reads propaganda, everyone recognizes it as a lie.

"Really! I guess they think that all of you guys have the same taste."

It does appear that way. How little they know that some of trip over our tongues over redheads. Not t mention being entranced by brunettes.

What they don't want to know is that some of us white guys have the hots for Tamron Hall. If they knew that their pointy little heads would asplode.

The truth is that attractive women come in all kinds of shapes, sizes and colors. It's foolish to limit oneself.

Are they serious! I just saw the photo of Obama out with the girls. What the hell is wrong with those people? They are both maddening and gratifying. The longer they spew their bile the longer they'll be out of power. Yet the flat out ignorance and rhetoric is really annoying. Why can't they just shut up?

Watching Saturday Night Live repeat. Best of Will Ferrell. He just walked into the conference room with the American Flag G-String! Hysterical!

Just reading on Twitter.. and saw this..

Ann Coulter was singing, "bomb, bomb, Iran", now wants Obama to "be stronger"

Posted by: Annette [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 20, 2009 10:35 PM

The Silly Ratfaced Git would like Ann Coulter to have a massive Myocardial Infarction and drop dead making the earth better by subtracting a hateful fascist asshole from the population.

Other than that, the Silly Ratfaced Git has no strong opinions.

They aren't going to be happy until they goad an attack on the country or start another war. Then they can say see, we told you he was weak.

God, I hate these idiot stupid rethuglicans.

Posted by: Annette [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 20, 2009 10:43 PM

Um, Git, aren't you assuming the Coulter creature has a heart?

On a good note.. It looks like Reid made a threat the other day and it paid off.. He told the senate he was giving them 2 weeks to confirm Howard Koh or he was pushing it through and so they did 20 of them Friday by unanimous consent.

Senate Confirms 20

There is a report coming out now from Pakistan that Bush planned this with the CIA 2 years ago. I am listening to the report now.

@alopecia: Was impressed with Steven Weber in The Philanthropist. Even more impressed after reading his last few posts on HuffPo.

It's Father's Day now and my kid sent me this. It's gratifying to know I raised him right.
Is it safe to come back to Merka? I bet I get quarantined when I come back here in August, if I don't get shot first.
Economy is very ugly in Oregon. #2 loser state in Merka! Oh well, great micros and bud! Oh and Tillamook sharp cheddar! And these! Git, these are to die for!

J: It's too easy to laugh at actors who try to write, largely because (with all due respect to any actors who happen to read this) too few of them actually like language. Steven Weber and Alec Baldwin, also at HuffPo, do a creditable job of it.

Posting weird links is a bad habit of mine, but if you have a few minutes, read

The man can write, full stop.
