Doof Quote of the Day
"I think on a national level your department of law there in the White House would look at some of the things that we've been charged with and automatically throw them out." —Sarah Palin
Department of Law? In the White House?
UPDATE: This, too:
“I am not a quitter. I am a fighter." —Sarah Palin just three days after quitting her job
She might as well be saying, "I'm not Sarah Palin. I'm Art Vandelay."

I wonder who she would appoint as Secretary of Law?
Department of Law? Seriously???? I got the feeling sometimes Bush acted dumber than he was so he could appeal to the average moron. But I think Palin really is the average moron.

Department ... of ... law?
Unbelievable.
She is hilarious and horrifying at the same time. John McCain deserves a special circle of hell for picking her and putting the nation at risk.

ROTFL!
No criticizing her, tho. She, as a former VP candidate shouldn't be expected to know this stuff. She's just a "middle American", not some high falutin' liberal elitist

John McCain picked her as VP. Unreal.

I am assuming that in the best case scenario she was refering to the Office of Legal Counsel.
http://www.usdoj.gov/olc/
But even if she was refering to that office they really don't defend the President against ethics charges etc.
They just do exactly what their title suggests, providing legal advice for actions that the President and his agencies engage in; not against charges on the President himself.

This is awesome. I'm absolutely loving this. Obviously, the McCain campaign was smart in the respect that they realized John picked a complete idiot, so best not to let her talk. Now, however, she has no handlers and we get to see Sarah Palin: Unfiltered. If she hasn't already, I'd say by Friday she'll have fired off enough talking points to choke her presidential ambitions. Because you know she won't turn down interviews. She wants to speak to YOU.
Adding... "If she were in the White House the "department of law" would protect her from baseless ethical allegations." HAHAHAHAHAHA!

And her STOODID-ness grows and grows.
You don't even have to add water.
She's too dumb to be allowed to use valuable air that others need.
Was it Keith that said last night (and I paraphrase a bit) that her rambling, word-salad speech on Friday "made Mark Sandford's speech (re: his soulmate, etc) Shakespearean in its organization and cadence."
LOVE it!!!
Did anyone else catch her telling Kate Snow/ABC this am: "You're not paying attention......" with a snippy, snotty tone that made me simply want to smack Ballin Palin in the face!
I'm 64! I'm a animal-lover. A peaceful, retired former teacher. Bush disgusted me, but I didn't hate him. But now I hate Cheney, Limpballs, Boehner, and this female "waste of space" (as Stuart Smalley's father called Stuart [Al Franken] in the movie STUART SMALLEY SAVES HIS FAMILY! Loved it!)
Yup! I hate Balin Palin, too. I don't obsess about it. I just hate her. And it really isn't her lies, hypocrisy, biogtry, lack of cognitive thinking skills, and her narcissism that make me continue hate her.
It's her ongoing murder of my wolves. Her burning love of easily or illegally slaughtering these defenseless, magical creatures. And the issue with the polar bears. And the fact that she and Todd net salmon and call it "fishing." "Todd is slaying fish." What a man. They deserve each other. They saved two other people.
Welling up as I type. Yes, I hate her.

Sorry about the double post. Typeshit's fault - apparently I had submitted 'too many comments in a short period of time'. Which is unlikely seeing as I haven't commented for at least a couple of days. Stupid TypePad.

I think (eye-crossing as it is to try and translate her word salad) that she's referring to an imaginary federal version of what Alaska calls the "Department of Law" - the statewide Attorney General's offices... http://www.law.state.ak.us/

PPP, what's that supposed to mean? That we're overreacting? You care to defend her? Considering how close she came to the White House, we have a duty to call her on every little thing she does that proves her incompetence, which is pretty much every time she opens her mouth.

eljefejeff,
You attacked her from the moment she was announced as a running mate, even before she had spoken. But all that aside, she's no longer running for anything; what's the point in attacking her now?
My point is this: No matter what Sarah Palin is or isn't, no one pisses off liberals more than her. All you need to do is see a picture of her, and you all go bonkers.
And if you were so concerned about mistakenly choosing a doof for VP (having him a heartbeat away from leading this country), then you should be barking about Biden, too. We haven't had one like him since Quayle.
Palin isn't going to win anything.
Biden might be President someday. That's the kind of thought that makes children duck underneath their desks. Can you honestly imagine Joe as President? I can only imagine it in something like Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy...maybe.

So you prefer Dick Cheney to Joe Biden.....ok.....
How do you know I attacked her the moment she was announced? Actually I laughed my ass off. I was well aware of her before that and had been hoping McCain would make the mistake of picking her but I figured it was a longshot. In the days after, when it was apparent what a blunder of a pick she was, I actually kind of felt sorry for her. The moment I began to hate her was when she dissed community organizers in her RNC speech.
Sarah Palin not only represents what is worst about the political climate in the US, but unfortunately she's a real human being who somehow is seen as a credible option for the presidency in the eyes of tens of millions of Americans. After 8 years of George Bush, these people still haven't wised up.
Just like the Palinites, you obviously don't understand how important it is to expose her as an incompetent fraud. You really think she's not running for anything? Are you blind, deaf, or both? You really think she has no plans for the presidency? Even if you take her at her word that she just wants to help republican candidates, that should also be enough to scare the bejeezus out of everyone. Can you imagine her raising money for Michelle Bachmann? This is why we must continue to discredit her at every chance(and fortunately there are plenty of those). If we could've done the same to Hannity or Rush before they got their careers going, maybe we could've limited their reach to the mindless.
Since you asked about Biden, Obama is healthy enough that he should survive 8 years. The same couldn't be said about McCain. If the worst happens, god forbid, I wouldn't feel very secure with Biden running the show, really just because he doesn't always think before he speaks. I hope he might voluntarily step down for 2012 but I guess that won't happen. At the bare minimum, he understands the issues currently facing us. He is an occasional buffoon but that doesn't really bother me. Was he the best choice Obama could've made? Probably not, but he isn't an unmitigated disaster either.

@PPP
You said:
"You attacked her from the moment she was announced as a running mate, even before she had spoken."
Not really. It was only after her first speech at the convention. You might want to re-watch it. It set a great tone.
You said:
"But all that aside, she's no longer running for anything; what's the point in attacking her now?"
Because she may run in the future... Because she keeps opening her mouth on camera... Because she keeps Tweeting, and Facebooking, and MyFacing... And SpacePainting.... Because she won't go away. And just like we'll point out Beck's and Shamitty's, and LimpBalls, and Malkin's, and Bachman's, and Coulter's and O'Reilly's insanity, hypocrisy, hate, delusions, etc., we'll keep pointing out hers.
You said:
"My point is this: No matter what Sarah Palin is or isn't, no one pisses off liberals more than her. All you need to do is see a picture of her, and you all go bonkers."
Hmmmm, do you think that might have something to do with her tone from word-one at the convention that continued to ramp-up to her garbage-hate-speech about "palling around with terrorists", etc.? It's also due to the fact that we call BS on her while Beck, Coulter, LimpBalls, Shammity, et al continue to not just look the other way, but to support her.
You said:
"And if you were so concerned about mistakenly choosing a doof for VP (having him a heartbeat away from leading this country), then you should be barking about Biden, too. We haven't had one like him since Quayle."
Oh, but we did have a Quayle in office. And two terms of him to boot. Biden is more competent than Bush. I have no worries.

You should go over to see her Facebok page and look at how many people love that idiot. I almost left a derogatory message on her wall, but then I remembered that my profile has my name and picture on it and those people strike me as the kind of nuts to hunt a guy down and fuck him up for not being in love with their Queen. I mean, people on her page were praising her for her firm grasp of The Consitution! She doesn't even have a firm grip on reality! She's one big bag of dumb! Amazing.

PPP
Seriously? She is the epitome of everything that is wrong with the people of this country. The type of person who has probably never read the Constitution. The type of person who places fear above hope, who thinks there are "pro-America" parts of America.
She is the stupid person I meet on a daily basis who have very hardened attitudes about what is "American" and what is "anti-American". If she had been alive in the 50's do you seriously think she wouldn't have been McCarthy's secretary?
She gives all women a bad name. To put it in words that everyone should understand. She is the woman who cries rape to get back at someone because they pissed her off. She brings all women down with her idiocy and cries of unfairness. If I, as a woman, did what she has done at work, I would have been unemployed a long time ago.
Seriously PPP? Really? You don't get why she pisses me off?
I will not stop calling her out or making fun of her for being such a batshit crazy loony on the other side of the aisle. Bachmann too. They both keep the stereotype of women not being able to stand up to men and be equal.
You have the right to believe she is harmless. I have the right to think she is the worst kind of politician and person and woman.
Sorry for the ramble, but she pisses me off. My equality in the eyes of the world takes a back seat every time that woman opens her mouth.
Fuck her.

I admit it, PPP. I attacked her, not from the moment she was announced, but mere days later I wrote the following. And I was right. What I felt then, I feel now, except with relief. She's an unqualified twit who has NO place in governing a chicken coop let alone a state or a country.
9/3/08
Ya know, I'm really starting to get pissed off now. This was kinda funny for a few days, but reality has sunk in. How DARE they make a joke out of the vice presidency of this country! How DARE they treat the election like it was some Horatio Alger novel where the sexy girl-next-door type becomes the VP (and most probably president) of this once-great country and everyone lives happily ever after!
The actions of the current administration and the GOP have cost thousands of us and our fellow citizens our jobs, our homes, our retirement & other savings, our infrastructure, our security & privacy, our reputation and standing in the world, and for far too many of us, limbs and lives. IT'S NOT A FUCKING JOKE!
How DARE they suggest that we go easy on the woman or that anyone is being tough on her because she is a woman! She could have, and should have, turned down McCain, but she chose not to. She put herself and her family into this position and no one bears responsibility but HER!
How DARE they repeat over & over, with smug looks on their faces, that she's qualified to be president! Can you imagine what would happen if we had a repeat of the Cuban Missile Crisis? Or the Iranian Hostage Crisis? Or any of countless other crises?? Her ability to field dress a fucking moose will sure come in handy then, eh? By her own admission, she "hasn't paid much attention to Iraq" and there are people who think that that's no big deal. NOT PAYING ATTENTION IS WHAT GOT US INTO THIS MESS IN THE FIRST PLACE!!
How DARE they suggest that what anyone with half a working brain knows is true, is NOT true! They think we don't see that if this ungodly duo are elected, the SAME people who are now in charge will REMAIN in charge! They don't want to leave office, so they bring in a puppet, much like they did with G.W.Bush, and expect that no one will notice.
I'm so angry & disgusted at the way these people are treating MY country, the country that my father & grandfathers back 12 generations fought for, like this.
Sarah Palin isn't a VP candidate; she's a punchline.

“I am not a quitter. I am a fighter."
That comment needed no improvement, but Bob came very close to surpassing it in comedic value.
Good work.
Did you see her in those interviews looking FIERCE in those gear? I tell you, at some point, Palin will sport a red plaid shirt blue jeans, and a full grown beard as she's chopping wood in a forest somewhere as she's being interviewed.
This is a full-blown exodus, people. A borderline pilgrimage, if you will.
I really do believe she's out of politics altogether. The reality is now dawning on me, and the light of comedy is a little bit dimmer because of it.
