Fat Cyclist
Go here and lend your support to Elden, aka. Fat Cyclist. His wife is in the final stages of terminal cancer and his blog is both heart-wrenching and inspirational.
Whenever I think about people like Elden or Elizabeth Edwards or even some of the people I've known who have succumbed to cancer over the years, I can't help but to think about the post-9/11 era when, instead of bombing the shit out of brown people, America had the political capital to rally the world around a truly noble cause: curing cancer. Especially considering how the same number of Americans die from cancer every two days as were killed on 9/11.
