Play The Lobbyist Card, Mr. President
The Nelson-Landrieu-Lieberman band of six have forced a negative ending to a mostly positive week for healthcare reform. So the president stepped out and spoke briefly about not delaying reform and getting the job done.
The president is clearly a more rational man than I am because I would've taken the opportunity to tear into the Nelson-Landrieu-Lieberman crowd and how they're some of the biggest recipients of corporate healthcare cash.
It bears repeating that the president has the opportunity here to tackle two issues in one stroke: healthcare reform and lobby reform, merely by pointing out how corporate lobbyists are dangerously close to screwing us all.

I agree. He should have come out with a list of the contributions these duplicitous fake ass Dems have taken from the insurance mafia. It's time to go medieval on their asses! Today I participated in some serious emails and phone calls to each of their offices warning them that we will help boot their stupid asses out of office if they fuck this up! Many people on the huffington post and other sites did this as well. You could tell it was getting to somoe of them because many of the calls went straight into voicemail. That's ok though because we left messages anyway. Keep it up guys. Let's try and crash their email and jam their phone lines!

Hey folks...not sure if there will be a PTT tonight but wanted to alert you that in addition to Brian Shweitzer and the founder of Daily Kos, Real Time with Bill Maher has Joe (Scoldborough; Doucheborogh- take your pick) tonight...

President Obama is having a prime time press conference next Wed night, @ 9PM.> Perhaps he'll take that opportunity to address the "Nelson-Landrieu-Lieberman Band of Six" bowing to their lobbyist friends instead of caring about the people they were elected to serve.
I know that's not really his style, but they certainly deserve a dressing down for their actions and it should be done in public!

Thanks for the tip LK! Is Brian Shweitzer the guy who spoke at the Democratic Convention with the cowboy hat? Anyway, I hate that bastard Scarborough and I love Markos from dailykos so I will be watching!

Why is anyone surprised that Lieberman would oppose this? He represents Connecticut.
BTW, a Kucinich amendment made it out of committee today which would allow gov't entities' health insurance plans to be covered by ERISA

again--where the F is the media on this? I have a good plan with a good company, but if a robust public option is quashed by the "centrists" (aka bought and paid for), I will be sitting out the next Presidential election.
This is so cut and dry--those that oppose healthcare reform are BOUGHT and PAID for. This should be page one.

I saw that on Ed Shultz's show tonight. I was also comforted by the way Ed broke down the CBO numbers which don't take the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy, which will be rolled back into account totaling $544 billion and the taxing of the wealthy which would bring in $717 billion. This would more than cover the 1 Trillion pricetag. Sam Stein of the huffington post was also on and he said that he went back a researched the CBO's scoring of the cost of the Iraq war which was $2.4 trillion and he said that we didn't hear a peep out of the Republicans about that. Checkmate! Ed was really on tonight. He blasted Ben Nelson and reminded him and several other Dems that Obama won 7 or 8 states that Bush won and that Obama is the reason many of them won their states. The best was at the end of the show when he brought out Liz Windstedt (not sure about my spelling) who is the creator of the Daily show. They both were dancing to Dr. Dre's "Party Like It's Your Birthday". I have to admit that I'm not sure if that's the name of the song. I'm not really into hip hop. Hope they don't revoke my African American status. I should ask my nephew. I was born in 1960 so my tastes are more 60's and 70's music. One of my favorite soundtracks is from the movie Anchorman. Anyway, Ed really made my day after all the bullshit that went down over the last few days.
