The King of All Spineless Cowards
Harry Reid could be the weakest, most tepid, spineless bastard to skulk across the Senate floor:
"We have 60 votes on paper," Senator Harry Reid, the majority leader, said Wednesday in an interview. "But we cannot bulldoze anybody; it doesn't work that way. My caucus doesn't allow it. And we have a very diverse group of senators philosophically. I am not this morning suddenly flexing my muscles."
What muscles?

And bigger balls, too.
If Reid had 85 votes, he'd still claim to be 3 short...

What a friggin' USELESS moron he is. Still running to the corner and cowering from the rethugs.
Hey Harry- WE WON DAMMIT!
God.

If he had 75 votes in the senate, we would see the same interview. Why is he always in such a hurry to tell people what he's not going to do with his majority? Why couldn't he just say "Well maybe now we can get some work done" or something supportive like that? What's with always asking everyone to lower their expectations of him?
And how exactly did this milquetoast get to become majority leader in the first place? I just don't get it.

My thought exactly--how did he get this position? And why is he able to keep it? Perhaps as it gives cover to the Dems who don't really want to do anything.

Once again, I have to remind everyone that Harry Reid is NOT human. He's an alien from the planet Xzygxnaxx who must return to the saline tank in his office closet every twelve hours to resume his natural form.

Samantha Bee's take on this on TDS last night was gold.
Also, question: HOW did Reid become majority leader??

Harry was selected because he's the least offensive liberal, and they needed someone who could flop at a moments notice in order to get something done. Harry doesn't offend the Blue Dogs, like, say, Russ Feingold. If Harry can't get it done liberally, he'll go with he blue dogs plan, or push whatever plan offers the least resistance.
The playbook for Dems hasn't necessarily been good legislation; just LOTS of legislation. They want to look like they're doing something. Harry Reid is the perfect shill for that. A common quote would be,
"We'll get something done. It may not be EVERYTHING we wanted, but it will be SOMETHING."
Use your imagination from there.

We must get Harry to step aside!
There has to be a way.
Who's next in line?

Really! We need someone with an actual spine. I'm actually hoping that he gets his ass kicked in the upcoming elections even if it means the seat goes to a Republican. We're bound to pick up another 5 or 6 seats if not more. Maybe then we can get someone like Barbara Boxer? Yes, if anybody knows who is next in line please post it. We need someone who can jam legislation up the asses of the Republicans and the wobbly legged Blue Dogs!

The only thing I can say in Harry's defense is that he ran procedural rings around the GOP when he was minority leader. There were tons of glowing posts on DailyKos at the time.
Ever since becoming majority leader though, it's one disappointment after another. And he'll probably lose his seat over his desire to be "bipartisan" above all things.

No balls, no spine, no heart, no lips, no personality and he represents Nevada, as in Las Vegas, Nevada? Couldn't they have given us Wayne Newton?

In answer to your question, I found this link listing the leadership. I think second would be Robert Byrd but he's way too old. Asst Maj Leader is Dick Durbin who I like and obviously he's in Obama's corner. I'm sure the implications of him being leader, but he's got my vote.
Being from California, I also like Boxer, she's the Chief Deputy Whip. And Feingold is a Deputy Whip, so they're all in leadership positions already. Hell I'd take a republican senator over Reid if it means getting real leadership, even if it costs the filibuster.
