WTF Mr. President....
by Lee Stranahan
(UPDATE: After posting this here, I wrote a HuffPost piece about this : No, President Obama; We Should NOT Shut Up About Health Care Reform)
For the first time in the Obama Presidency, I'm genuinely a little worried....is this political cover? Bob! Please chime in...
Obama Urges Groups to Stop Attacks
In a pre-holiday call with half a dozen top House and Senate Democrats, Obama expressed his concern over advertisements and online campaigns targeting moderate Democrats, whom they criticize for not being fully devoted to "true" health-care reform."We shouldn't be focusing resources on each other," Obama opined in the call, according to three sources who participated in or listened to the conversation. "We ought to be focused on winning this debate."
Specifically, Obama said he is hoping left-leaning organizations that worked on his behalf in the presidential campaign will now rally support for "advancing legislation" that fulfills his goal of expanding coverage, controlling rising costs and modernizing the health system.

Well I'm just going to have to say "Sorry Mr. President. I want that too and it isn't happening. You've got a congress that is wholly owned and operated by the insurance Cartel fighting a public option at every move. Those moderate democrats ARE the problem. When are you going to actually fight for what you claim you want. From where I sit it looks to me like the insurance cartel owns you as well. Either put up or shut up. I'm the one out here with no Heath Care whatsoever because my job got shipped t India. By the way, when is the exportation of our jobs going to end? I'm not holding my breath."

Oh boy. Now he thinks we are being too mean to the Blue Dogs and various other centrist bi PARTISIAN dumbocrats?
Well, when Obama's health care bill goes down in flames or is some watered down bullshit plan- don't be cryin' and whining when you become a one term president.
I say BRING IT ON every single operation holding these assholes acountable for their actions.
And don't holler at me Bob.

How dare he tell me who to protest. Just because I voted for him doesn't mean I'm going to listen to him when he tells me I should walk off a cliff.
Those crooked fucking moderate Dems are criminal in their dereliction of their responsibility to the people that voted for them. They represent their corporate sponsors, not the citizens that elected them.
It is my DUTY as a citizen of this country to criticize their every move when they are not behaving in my interests.
I'm fucking tired of this government of the corporations, by the corporations, and for the corporations. I am fucking tired of the corporate tools in congress that made it this way. I will criticize it and them until it is restored to the people.
You don't get to tell me otherwise so FUCK YOU Mr. President sir. Do your fucking job. I'll criticize whomever deserves it. You are an asshole for telling me I should not.

If the President feels that we are over-reacting and needlessly targeting blue dogs to the detriment of the success of the health care overhaul, he needs to take control of the debate.
It is a mistake for him to leave this up to Congress for so long. It is his job to guide this process, not let it devolve into a free for all.

From my perspective, the entire Health Care Reform effort has been handled very poorly. Had I been handling this effort here is how it would have happened.
1. There would have been many ads and infomercials run explaining how a single payer health care system would work. There would have been all of the information that is out there already from all of the single payer supporting groups such as PNHP (http://www.pnhp.org/) that shows that a single payer health care system is the only reliable way to reduce health care costs. There is study after study showing that this is true.
2. The Democrats in congress would have proposed a single payer system. Watch the insurance industry freak out. You have gored their biggest source of profits from ripping off customers. There is much screaming and flailing. Keep up the pressure for the single payer system until their screams become so high pitched that all the dogs in America are howling.
3. Now we offer the public option as a compromise. Let the insurance mafia still be in the game. Given a choice between being in the game and being out of the game, the public option looks good.
4. Profit. Health care reform with a public option.
What the fuck kind of negotiator gives away chips without getting anything in return. We gave up single payer and got nothing in return. I have no faith in the people running this effort since they appear incompetent to me.
Now we fight tooth and nail for a public option. The people handling this suck.

I think you are all jumping the gun just a little here.. You are believing Ceci Connolly who was just recently discredited by Media Matters as completely distorting another piece about the Health Care story she did.
So instantly you are believing this one? Sorry, I don't give her much credence. And I sure don't give the WaPo much after they just got caught with their hands in the cookie jar... come on guys.. Lets not jump on the President quite so quickly.

I did read it Lee.. but you need to be aware of who Ceci Connolly is too.. She is a snake.. and is totally discredited.
She has written numerous pieces about the public option and has lied in so many ways.. even did a one person interview with a congressman and then when the interview came out in the paper she changed his answers totally.
Check it out..

Just like the post Bob put up the other day about the AMA supporting the public option.. But they don't.. That is NOT true..
CNN was misled and misled on that story, check the post..I posted a web page from TPM that gave the story and said they didn't, they support the Federal Benefits package which is different from a public option... It is all smoke and mirrors.. You have to remember the media is not with us on this .. the media is big money and they are with the corporations.. which is mostly with the insurance companies. Not you and me...

I concur with Annette's observations. Connolly is a insurance industry tool masquerading as a reporter. Her stories can not be trusted. She's been caught making shit up too many times.
The AMA's position does not appear to have changed.
