I'm not sure. Maybe we should send it to CNN so they can analyze it and start a four-week media uproar over homosexual inuendos in the sixties.
Or, maybe Kirk was ANTI-WOMAN? Anti female yoeman? Was he a thinly veiled chauvinist. Oh my God!
Not in today's Starfleet, missy!

I bet later on, Spock scratched that bitch's eyes out. Hell hath no fury like a Vulcan cock-blocked.

Perhaps Kirk memntarily confused the Vulcan Nerve Pinch with a Romulan Reacharound.

Speaking of weird things in Star Trek: why did they use the word "yeoman" as a military rank? It's a social rank from the middle ages -- an archaism that's never been used by the navy, or any other modern military force I'm aware of.

I think all the yeoman we saw in Star Trek TOS were chicks, there obviously to bring Kirk stuff to sign and a rack to gaze at. And I don't think it was so much a rank as it was a specialization or rating, like quartermaster, helmsman, security, sea bitch...

Matt,
According to wikipedia:
In the Royal Navy, United States Coast Guard, United States Navy, and other maritime or naval services, a yeoman is a rating with usually secretarial, clerical, payroll or other administrative duties. In the Royal Navy, a Yeoman of Signals is a signalling/tactical communications petty officer.

"Push, push hard. Dig it in there Mr. Spock."
Sounds like Kirk is a bottom.
