Go Barney Frank

All you can really do is shame and humiliate these nincompoops. Reasoning with them, as Frank implied, is a total waste of time.

I don't blame Frank one bit for his response. There's only so much of this batshit that anyone can take, but calling Mr. Obama's plans Hitlerian, especially in front of a Jewish person, is just too much. While civil discourse is needed, this is how one needs to address this kind of hysterical, provocative and hateful rhetoric. Kudos, Mr. Frank!

That's right Barney!!! These morons have been coddled by the media for far too long. I'm sick of the media treating them as if they have legitimate concerns. Call them what they are because they bring nothing to the debate. Dumb Asses.

THANK YOU BARNEY ! Finally someone that has the cajones to stand up and tell someone that such a comparison is not only vile but indefensible. WTF is wrong with these people. Do they not have any shame or do they not care how they may be offending any holocaust survivors? I grew up around many people that wore the scars of the holocaust with their forearms tatooed with a number. I would not have been so nice as Barney. I would have hit her on the side of her fucking head with a bat.

I know a lot of this kind of comparison has been going on lately, but, once again, I found myself thinking that if the politics in this had been reversed, and that woman was a far-left Dem during the Bush administration with a similarly 'decorated' picture of W. at a town hall meeting, I don't think she would have gotten as far as being able to ask a question. She probably would have been assaulted trying to enter the venue.

I think that says more for the Dems (in actuality) than it does against the Repubs (in my scenario), FWIW.

More like this please... but I feel that he should have also followed with, "You are being mislead. The reality of what we are trying to give the citizens of the US with health care reform is X, Y, and Z.

We must counter their nonsense message with the truth at every opportunity.

This vid is a great way to start the day! There is no rationalizing with irrational tools like that turd lady. They don't want to engage in an intellectual conversation because they are simply stupid turds. They need and deserve to be marginalized! Go Barney Frank Go!

@Big_Ben: rest assured, he did. It's just not in the video, but he spent a good chunk of time talking about what was actuallin the various proposals. Once again, it was a town hall with a majority of reform supporters.

"The White House was making a strategic mistake in considering additions to a plan that would attract Republicans, Weiner said, adding, "The White House is kinda worshiping at the altar of bipartisanship."

That was fucking awesome.

@Terri- I don't know where you have been, but the White House has been saying that line forever. They had to be slightly open-ended, there isn't a final bill, but Obama always said he wanted a public option or insurance exchange... and other various ways of saying public option. He stated on July 20th what he wanted to look for and find in a bill.

Quit harping on the bi-partisan crap. He a made a promise throughout the campaign, that he was going to try and reach across the aisle, that's all he was doing. He was covering his ass. Now he can say we tried, but it failed. Done. Reconciliation and committee, here we come.

I wish there were more Barney Franks in Congress!

He handled the situation beautifully and it made me proud to be an American. How ANY right-minded American can stand by and not say anything, when tea-baggers, birthers and deathers defile President Obama, is beyond me. I'm sure the Founding Fathers never envisioned this sorry state of affairs when they were writing the Constitution, either. If they had, they might have drawn a few lines in the sand when they drafted the First and Second Amendments!

I used to live near Brockton MA and the people there are NOT as stupid as this woman makes them seem. She was only looking for her 15 mins and thankfully Barney put her in her proper place!

YOU GO BARNEY!!
