Palin Apparently Quitting Her Marriage, Too

I'm not sure how credible this is right now, but AlaskaReport says:

AlaskaReport has learned this morning that Todd Palin and former Alaska governor Sarah Palin are to divorce. Multiple sources in Wasilla and Anchorage have confirmed the news. A National Enquirer story exposing previous affairs on both sides led to a deterioration of their marriage and the stress from that led to Palin's resignation as governor of Alaska.

The Palins were noticeably not speaking to each other at last Sunday's resignation speech in Fairbanks. Sarah ditched Todd (MSNBC) right after the speech and left without him. Sarah removed her wedding ring a couple of weeks ago.

If true, another family values sanctity-of-marriage wingnut epic fail.

But as Sarah Palin has said before: position flexible.

UPDATE: I want to underscore that this appears to be just a rumor. Hence, the above qualifiers: "apparently," "I'm not sure how credible this is" and "if true." However, considering the trend of sanctity-of-marriage Republicans being caught in extramarital affairs, this isn't outside the realm of possibility. And for the record, this sentence is possibly the first time I've ever mentioned the Trig "conspiracy" on this blog.

They looked in love during the general election, so this surprises me a little. However, I remember telling several people that there was something about Todd Palin that turned me off. He just seemed sleazy to me.

This is interesting...

I also learned that there was an incident back in the summer of 2008, before the McCain campaign officially tapped Sarah, where Todd Palin pulled a gun on Levi in a heated exchange concerning his relationship with Bristol. This news will be hitting the local papers here in town next week. Stay tuned.

Palin camp denies it. I posted it here:

I can't stand Sarah Palin and her misfortunes will always fill me with immeasurable happiness, but upon hearing of her divorce my heart actually goes went to her kids. They're the ones who seem to suffer the most from the side effects of divorce. That part, at least is very sad.

goes went (?) -- See, blogging on Sarah Palin has caused me to start writing like her. I think I meant goes out. lol

The Palin camp ALWAYS denies rumors. The more vociferous the denial, the closer to home the rumors are striking.

*IF TRUE*... who in the media will be the first to ask if her youngest child (Twig? Whatever his name is) was fathered by Todd?

Where's Maury Povich when you need him?!

The Palin are a really bad reality show along the lines of "Wife Swap".

Never trust a denial from Palin's camp.

Gee if it IS true what's next?? Will we be reading that Bill Kristol is divorcing his wife, Susan?

Posted by: mrspeel2 [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 1, 2009 7:10 PM

Is this another one of those "Sarah Palin's baby is actually her daughter's baby" rumors? Like the one Daily Kos "confirmed"?

Seriously, Bob, you're better than this.

Bob is better than this PPP. His first line: "I'm not sure how credible this..."

Is a rumor not worthy of a blog post? You know, like "Obama is not a citizen"?

You are right Mr. Broadway. I'm bad.

There's more...now it's rumors that Palin pressured the prosecution in the case of Levi Johnston's mother to avoid a plea deal and basically throw the book at her.
She's really a sweetheart, eh?

That's at TPC, too (pressured prosecution):

PPP:

Is this another one of those "Sarah Palin's baby is actually her daughter's baby" rumors? Like the one Daily Kos "confirmed"?

Seriously, Bob, you're better than this.

Couple of points here. First, as BC pointed out, I mentioned the rumor nature of the post -- twice. Second, search the blog for Trig posts and you'll find ZERO results.

Also, considering the trend recently of sanctity-of-marriage Republicans who have been caught in extramarital affairs, is this rumor so far outside the realms of possibility?

I thought the same thing of William the Bloody, wife?

Posted by: trahan [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 2, 2009 1:24 PM

well, this comes as no surprise to me. as someone who has watched her campaign documentatry 'who's nailin palin' countless times, they were both banging everyone in sight.
