Healthcare

TPM is reporting:

After fruitlessly seeking a bipartisan compromise on health care reform for months, the White House seems to have finally realized that Republicans have no interest in compromising and that progressives are fed up with making nice. Now, the administration is preparing to go it alone, even if that means passing reform on a straight party-line vote.

Now I hope this means a bill that's a real bill. Not some ridiculously compromised Kent Conrad slice of wet bread.

Adding... Based on the droopy poll numbers of the president and guys like Max Baucus, while also looking at the utterly dismal numbers for the Republicans on healthcare reform, it's clear that the missing ingredient for the Democrats is bold, aggressive salesmanship on reform. Americans want it, and they want Congress to want it just as badly. It's just a matter of when and how.
