Drudge Link Trolling

For months now, Eric Boehlert at Media Matters has been documenting how Politico has been deliberately crafting stories in order to get juicy links from Drudge, and, thusly, spikes in their traffic. In other words, "link trolling."

Yesterday, Politico posted a story in which they quote an anonymous "aide" who says that the president won't be making further pitches for the public insurance plan. For those of you keeping track, this would be how many breathless all-caps stories from Drudgico about the alleged "death" of the public option?

Anyway, the link trolling continues to work like a charm.

Of course the link points to the Politico story. Shocker. And "it's official?" The source was anonymous -- if he or she exists at all. That's hardly official, but then again it's, you know, Drudge.

Adding... MSNBC is repeating the public option aspect of the story as well. Very serious.

I hear ya, Bob, but sadly Huffington Post does the exact same thing, over and over. Sensationalism and exaggeration seem to have friends on both sides of the spectrum unfortunately.

Assuming that is an actual screen grab up there, Drudge's faith in the veracity of the story seems belied by the point size of the type.

@Eric -- That's an actual screen grab.

(Am having trouble commenting- will try again).

Sadly I don't just blame Drudge, I also blame the Whitehouse and Obama, ( and no I don't trust or even read Politico, I do trust MSNBC about 80%). After Sebelius came out and declared the Public Option NOT Essential and then went to Town Halls pushing the Co-op- She more than Muddied the Debate and the Public Option Message- and then she came out speaking All Insurance Driven- about Consumers needing Competition. Just to be Clear- this is about People as Patients Needing healthcare - it is NOT all about Insurance Reform- and sadly Obama has been basically reitereating the same "Insurance Reform " line-
It has caused Massive Confusion that was NOT needed.

And NO ONE except Dean has been out there explaining what is really needed for a Public Plan ( and Wiener). But Obama should have given a Public Address about The Public Option. AND he needs to lead on this-and Sebelius if she can't support him or atleast stay on Message- time for her to go. And Gibbs should never come out and pulled the We Misheard crap.

It's time to keep some promises to the American people and to Teddy- by Obama and the Senators- NOT for any more Compromising.....50 Million Americans Lives have already been Compromised, 179,000 have died since 2001 with NO Healthcare, and 20 -22,000 dying per year with NO care, and 14,000 per day losing care- that means 400,000 a month.

Bottem Line is that we as a Country have a Healthcare Crisis, It is NOT just about Insurance Reform, when people WITH Insurance are losing Homes and being denied Care, It's time for some one to stand up for the People for a Public Plan.

President Obama needs to make a BIG Speech on TV and be clear that the Public Option is NOT to be"negogiated", Lives are at stake.

My latest to info@barackobama.com when they wrote yet AGAIN asking for money.

No public option? No money. No working on any campaigns and definitely no vote in 2012. If the president feels he can kick his base to the curb, then he should not expect any support in the future.

I'm sick of this shit.

Chuck Todd just on MSNBC telling Nora that people were never promised Public Option by Obama ( implying that we misheard ? or misunderstood? or that all those monthes on the trail we were not listening ? ) So MSNBC is still not helping the worry on the Public Option- this is not about people panicing- this is about people like Todd fanning the flames...

( just to be clear- Todd is slowing aspiring to Gregory's level of reporting....I would rather HEAR an actual person with a Statement from the WHitehouse- and not chuck's thoughts..)

And the biggest news today from the MSM?

Diane Sawyer will anchor ABC nightly news!!!!

Big deal. No one watches anymore.

But some media people apparently think this is HUGE.

Chuck Todd is a tool. Mike Pence is a tool. Morning Blow is a tool.

I haven't watched the evening news in years.

President Obama needs to make a BIG Speech on TV and be clear that the Public Option is NOT to be"negogiated", Lives are at stake.

NOT. GONNA. HAPPEN. He's caved to the rethugs and big insurance and big pharma. And Rahm.

And it is a sad day. But it will be an even sadder day in Nov. of 2010 and Nov. 2012. And of course dems will be standing around, wringing their hands wondering what happened.

WAKE THE FUCK UP DEMOCRATS.

Good God.
