But He's Friendly and Grandfatherly!
The headline of Pat Buchanan's column this week:
The Affirmative Action Nobel
Didn't Rush Limbaugh get fired from ESPN for implying that Donovan McNabb was being praised just because he's African-American?
What are you waiting for, MSNBC?

They truely are pathetic. It's not like they're getting good ratings having him on. As an African American, I feel like they're poking me with a stick each time I see his pig face on screen. He's a rutting pig who should be marginalized. Not featured on tv every day.
I suspect there aren't many complaints from African Americans because they don't watch MSNBC. I do find some comfort in that.
The fact that he is still around will also insure that they GOP will be dead for quite some time in terms of drawing minorities.

Funny, I was just replying to a comment on my new HuffPo article where I had to explain to some troll that just because you don't use the n-word doesn't mean you are not being a racist. The article is all about El Rushbo's failed dream of buying and trading Negro men.

Somebody should put him back in his sarcophagus and bring him back to the tomb where he originally came from.

Are these "affirmative action Nobel" people (and Pat is far from the only one) aware that a) this prize is not awarded by Americans and b) there have, in fact, been other leaders of color in the world before President Obama? Like, practically every country not in Europe, the US, or Canada?
But I'm just a black girl, so what do I know? I'll just sit here and polish my 28 Nobel Peace Prizes (one for every year I've been black and alive, ya know. Plus, I'm a lady person, so I got twice as much money.)

MSNBC is pathetic but to put it in context, Rush Limbaugh was hired as an NFL commentator, not a political pundit. He just couldn't help himself. As horrible a human being as he is, he's no moron, even if his listeners are. He knows what he's saying. And he had to have known what he said was going to get him in trouble, but by god, it just HAD to be said. He was willing to risk his so called "dream job" just to point out that blacks aren't smart enough to play quarterback. (He might not have used those words, but that's exactly what he meant.)
This was after McNabb had led Philly to the NFC title game two straight years, and after getting hurt, played badly in his first two games of 03. After Rush got fired he had a great season and ended up leading his team to the NFC title game again, and the following year led them to the Super Bowl where they lost by 3 points to the Patriots dynasty. Just shows how little Rush knows about football.

I read your article, Matt. It was very good.
About Pat Buchanan: given how effective the campaign against Glenn Beck and his (lack of) advertisers has been, I should think Color of Change would want to have a go at Pat.

The worst part about the article was Pat's (and we knew it was coming) tirade on all of the things that Obama has "won" over the years...and he includes "Obama's scholarships" and "editor of law review" as being the product of affirmative action too. Of course Pat assumes that it's bc of affirmative action. Yet he claims that people who call Sarah Palin stupid or talk about her attending five colleges are "intellectual elitists". He says Obama got the keynote speaker position at the convention because he is black, but of course he doesn't think that Sarah Palin was chosen for VP candidate just because she's a woman. How come Barack Obama has kicked ass with a lot of the opportunities that he has received, while Sarah Palin has crapped on them?
