Morning Awesome

Thought we'd wrap up Stop-motion Week with a rare classic...

Stop-motion sequence from The Flintstones on the Rocks
I had no idea this existed, but I love the look of it. Way better than any CG.

That's pretty awesome. I love the cotton ball steam coming out of the opponent's ears.

Give me stop-motion over CGI any day. I was really disappointed that Aardman Animation went CG after their smash success with Wallace and Gromit and the Curse of the Wererabbit, which I absolutely loved. Flushed Away was a decent movie, and they almost duplicated the plasticene look and feel of the Wallace and Gromit films, but in the end it's still computer animated and you just can't match the depth and realism of Aardman's stop-motion projects. I wish they'd put out a film a year like the major animation studios, but it's hard when you're shooting one frame every two weeks or so, I guess.
