Harry Reid Wants to Kill Healthcare Reform

This is not good.

The Senate Democratic leader indicated Tuesday that lawmakers may not complete health care legislation this year, missing President Barack Obama’s deadline on his signature issue and pushing debate into a congressional election year.

Nope. Not good. As Oliver notes, if it doesn't get done this year, healthcare reform is dead.

What is so amazing to me is this playing right into the Republicans' hands. I just don't get it--why the Dems in the Senate do not realize that inaction and/or watered down bills will bring them right back in the minority.

How did we just go from so much momentum to almost zero so quickly? What is wrong with this douche?

I'm betting though, in fine Harry Reid form, we'll get another statement soon about how, no, we are working hard towards getting it done this year, don't worry, I was just saying, you know, blah blah blah blah I'm a fucking idiot that shouldn't be let near a mic blah blah blah get a good bill not a quick deadline blah blah blah take the mic away please...
