Hey Now!

Reading about Sarah Palin's entitled behavior following her triumphant roll-out at the Republican convention, it's clear that she continues to suffer in the throes of Hank Kingsley Syndrome.

Those of you familiar with the Larry Sanders Show will know what I'm talking about. In the episode "Hank's Night in the Sun" Hank Kingsley, Larry's sidekick played by the great Jeffrey Tambor, is asked to host the late night talk show at the last minute. Following a decent performance, Hank "goes rogue" and proceeds to behave like an entitled asshole diva. By the end, he weasels his way into hosting the show for a second night and bombs horribly -- in fact, he accidentally uses the word "retard" in his monologue and is booed. One of the audience members shouts, "You suck!"

This is Sarah Palin. One good convention speech and a bump in the polls for the McCain campaign and she transformed from a white trashy Alaskan governor into a white trashy diva who refused to take the advice of seasoned political professionals. Consequently, she made a complete ass of herself.

Seriously, watch the full episode of Larry Sanders here. It's absolutely the story of Sarah Palin from September 2008 through today.

Teh Train Wreck™ will just keep on rolling til it collapses in Iowa. I guarantee.

Adding: it happens that this is the ONLY EPISODE of that show I have EVER WATCHED.

I agree with Matt. She'll come in 3rd or 4th place in Iowa and then spend the next several months spreading rumors of how the convention could become a war zone... oh wait Ive seen that story somewhere before.

J M Ashby Palin's fail will conclude the teabagger fail and precipitate the crashing end of the modern conservatism. I humbly predict it.

Another Palin false fact funny - in her memoir, she has attacked another (Alaskan) "Democratic lawmaker" who "complained that I wasn't as 'sparky'" (as before the 2008 election).

The problem with that is, the "Democratic lawmaker" who made the statement was Senator Bert Stedman, R-Sitka, who is about as Republican as they come.

Well, he's not a "Teabagger," and he criticized Palin... so he MUST be a Democrat!

HP is reporting that Palin told Barbara Walters that she did not know that Bristol was pregnant until Sept. 08. She delivered in December.

I ask you, what mother does not notice that her daughter, that lives with her, is six months pregnant?

Her lies are really brash.

ec, you're assuming she actually pays attention to her children when they all aren't in front of a camera.

Wolfe, good point.

Please define "white trashy", Bob.

I get that no one lights your button like Palin, but your immature name calling actually makes her your equal.

I realize that liberals like to call people names, but in the end, this type of behavior only increases the impression that most of you are high shool drop outs living in your parents vacation trailer.

Grow up.

Point well taken, PPP.
Calling her "white trash" is an insult to low-information, poorly educated, and not very bright Americans everywhere.

Posted by: Wolfe_Tone [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 14, 2009 8:15 PM

@PPP: name calling occurs on both sides, so don't play.

And Palin is most certainly not white trash. She just pretends to understand "real" America, like the rest of the GOP has been doing for decades. It amazes me how these people haven't caught on yet.

Jeeezus, I love the Larry Sanders Show so much I want to marry it. You still don't get the full impact of Hank in all his Kingsley-ness unless you watch every single episode so you can truly appreciate his douchebaggery.

And yes, that's Sarah Palin to a T! Good call!

Shorter PPP:

"Stop name calling, Bob! And now I will call you an immature high school brat who never left home!"

Jeebus, this tool has no governor on her ego. Governor of a "large state?" ONLY if we're talking surface area.

Just imagine how much advice she'd take from her Cabinet if she did manage to get elected. VERY SCARY to even think about!

ahh, well done, Bob! I see you discovered my irony!. You're too smart for me.

By the way, how did it feel?

Posted by: Political Party Pooper [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 15, 2009 1:26 PM

@PPP I come from a long line of Southern 'white trash', 'rednecks', 'crackers' or as roxsteady likes to say, 'saltines'.....and Palin is relying on the fact that us liberal elites thinks she's white trash, that helps her cement her connection with "real people". But truth is, she is trashy AND she's not like the "real people" at all.
