Insufferable Douchebag Pledges Filibuster
Help us, Connecticut. Please help us. This guy is saying that no healthcare reform at all is better than healthcare reform with a public option, so he's pledging to filibuster it. Now, I still don't believe he's serious. But the fact that he's playing games with something this important is unforgivable.

What would you have us do? That's a serious question. Writing & calling don't help. :( He's a douche.
OTOH, there are a whole lot of other douchey Senators - all GOP. Perhaps if one of them can be convinced...?

I will say I did enjoy Jon Stewart mocking this tool last week. He really nailed his annoying way of speaking and the Deputy Droop Along tone to his voice. If I ever saw him on the street I'm sure I'd walk up to him with my hand out to shake his and when he took the bait, I'd plant my knee squarely in his groin! Fucking Dwarft!

How did the people of California recall Govenor Gray Davis? Is there a way to get rid of a Senator who doesn't listen to his constituents? This guy needs to be taken out.

No, roxsteady. The state constitution has no recall provision.

I was absolutely shocked last night to learn the scope of the ConservaDems running around the House. After handing the anti-choice amendment an overwhelming victory while making the public option a squeeker, it's even clearer to me that we're really, really in trouble in the Senate.
To be sure, we have to work to replace ConservaDems with Progressives, but in the meantime, we have to play the hand we're dealt. So the question that we have to ask ourselves today is -- is no reform at all better than healthcare without a public option?
I say NO. I say that we don't dismiss the tremendous progress that would be made with existing legislation that doesn't include a public option (e.g., end rating/denials based on pre-existing conditions, end recission, end lifetime limits, subsidies for low-income households, limits on out-of-pocket expenses, free preventive care, eliminate the Medicare Part D donut hole, negotiate Medicare drug prices, ...). At the same time, we make note of the ConservaDems who stood in our way and we primary their asses, if necessary, again and again and again.

I think that he means it. And, I don't think that he plans to run for re-election. I think that he is trying to use these last years of his term to make a name for himself in any way that he can.

I was just checking on recalls and only 19 states have this law. Now, I actually think that no reform would be better than reform without a public option. If progressives stand firm, they won't be blamed by the voters. Liberman would and he'd also be kicked out of the caucus finally and stripped of the chairmanship. I read somewhere last week that he is running for reelection. Now, if I were Reid I'd go public. Tell the press that if Joe pulls this bullshit, the Homeland Security Chairmanship will be taken away. They've got to do something. I personally don't believe he's actually going to filibuster. This little man is just an attention whore. I'd call his bluff and do it publically!

Ladies and gentlemen, your new Fox News 'expert' democrat. He will be the new Colmes.

What the hell is he talking about? The public option is the only thing that will keep costs down. Fucking asshole. If he filibusters the bill, there is absolutely no reason to keep him in the caucus. Some people say well we still need his vote.....well, we need it now, for this! If he doesn't vote with democrats on this one, then when can we count on him?
Unfortunately, I think he is serious. I think this is Joe's revenge. He's enough of a dickhead to pull this off.

Are we looking at any Senate elections where we can target some shaky Republicans? If we can pick up two more seats, we wont need this asshole at all. Well, I hope not anyway.

veralynn, I think you're right...except change "Colmes" to "Dick Morris."
But seriously, kids - start saving up your allowance so you can donate some money to...well, whoever runs against this asshole.

Exactly. This is their biggest domestic priority. But I'm sure he'll continue voting his "conscience." And by "conscience" I mean "inner douche."
If he actually filibusters, someone should collect the names of all the people who died from lack of insurance during the thing and just keep mailing them to his office.

I can't fucking stand Lieberman
Everytime he talks I get an image of Droopy Dog in my head.
And I will forever maintain my opinion that he is the single biggest reason that Gore lost in 2000. The vote would not have been close enough to be stolen by Bush had Gore not chosen Lieberdouche.

His arrogance is insufferable. He might be aligning himself for a cush job in corporate money-making after he's out of office

The Fox News banner behind him says it all. I say the Dems should tell him, no filibuster, or we WILL take away your committee chairmainship. If you can't count on someone to vote to avoid a filibuster, you can't count on them for anything.

Do you reckon he'd give up on the filibuster for a Klondike bar?

Lieberman is a crap-lined millstone and Lindsey Graham is a carbuncle[post-spellcheck]attached to it's underside. When will McCain weigh in with this Triumvirate of A-Holes?

I know respectably liberal Connecticutians who voted for this asswipe because "he's done a lot for Connecticut and we don't know Ned LaMont." They are regretting it now, bigtime.
