Pro-Life Bob Casey Knows the Score
While I disagree with my senator on abortion, I really admire Bob Casey's approach on Stupak language as it applies to the Senate bill:
Casey, a leading pro-life Democrat, said he believes "health care reform should not be used to change longstanding policies regarding federal financing of abortion which has been in place since 1976."
Of course. And this is the policy in the House bill without the Stupak amendment. Not all pro-life Democrats are hard-liners on this. Hopefully Casey's attitude is contagious.

Casey is my senator, too, and his remarks make me hopeful. He has turned out to be much better (in all ways) than I had feared he might when Rendell and Schumer anointed him pre-primary.
