The Republicans are Insane

Rudy Giuliani for example.

Can you count how many times he's wrong in this short Cavuto clip?

--Since when did the successful trial and conviction in New York of Ramzi Yousef have anything to do with the USS Cole and the embassy bombings?

--Shalid Cake Muhammed?

--The Republicans haven't adequately explained why an incarceration and trial make New York a terrorism target any more than it already is. Have there been significant examples of terrorist trials being attacked by other terrorists?

--And if Fort Hood was an "Islamic Terrorist Attack on Our Soil" then so were the 2002 Beltway Sniper attacks. Right there in George W. Bush's back goddamn yard. And there goes the Republican boast: "he kept us safe for blah blah years."

Suck it, Rudy. You pissy pants cowardly loser.

I'm still waiting for any one of the asshats like Giuliani to talk about "Christian Terrorist Attacks on US Soil".

That ain't gonna happen, is it?

Hi Bob,
I think you forgot to add 'douchebag' after "loser".

I have to say how distressing it is that this man continues to be relevant. Can't somebody, anybody point out that this man has profitted off of 9/11 financially more than nearly anyone else? Instead of "mayor of new york", can't the graphic shown on the screen say '9/11 profiteer', because he's beend doing that for as long a time as he was mayor.

All during the world series I saw him sitting in the stands and was hoping for a errant bat, or line drive foul hit him in the face.

What an ass! Instead of hoping and praying there wouldn't be another attack after 1993, by the way, "I had just left the 22nd floor of the Trade Center and got on the Path Train" perhaps, the scared, incompetent bitches he should have spoken with were Dick Cheney and Bush who received the warning in August of 2001 and did nothing.

Or, maybe Rudy should have headed the warnings from the NYC Fire Department about their radios that didn't work in those buildings. These Republican assholes are so ready to call this a terrorist attack instead of waiting for the facts.

Do they think Hasan's lawyer isn't going to pull this footage of Rudy and Lieberman and all the other stupid Republicans who are helping the defense on how to frame this shit? In their rush to pin a terrorist attack on this administration, they're forgetting one huge fact staring them in the face.

This guy's problems began during the Bush administration and to say that political correctness was the reason for not reporting this ignores the fact that the Bush administration was not politically correct, just extremely incompetent. Sadly, the military has no one to blame but themselves. Not for the murders but, for ignoring the warning signs once again.

I want to ask the Christianists why they listen to FOX when it tells them over and over and over that God's Earth is really hell.

Giuliani is a prick. If Rudolph Giuliani were a Democrat (shudder) the wingnuts would be constantly saying his name is too weird and that he is the descendant of godless fascists and a socialist (making sense is not relevant to wingnuts).

By the way, Rudy will be a guest on This Week tomorrow which is just one more reason not to watch.

Good point!!

However a terrorist attack is against noncombatant targets. So the Fort Hood murders do not seem to qualify as terrorism if I understand "noncombatant" correctly.

the the legal definition of terrorism (from U.S. Code Title 22, Ch.38, Para. 2656f(d)(2)
the term “terrorism” means premeditated, politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombatant targets by subnational groups or clandestine agents;

They'll say anything-dont even care if it makes no sense or makes no connection. The brain-washed element glued to FOX cant even make their own discernments anymore so they dont even notice

It's so obvious why they are doing this. It's a dog whistle again, but a different one. It's basically telling their base (and the media), "we were attacked under Obama's watch."

I guarantee you this will get baked into the MSM meme in a years time...Even if the MSM discredits it as a "terrorist attack" it will forever be linked when talking about the "Dems weak on security" narrative they love to beat to death. Once it becomes baked into the narrative, it will be forever linked to any future MSM discussion--and that's the way the right wing echo chamber works.

What's going to happen if this guy just says he killed those people in the hopes that he'd be shot and killed so that he wouldn't have to be deployed? That he was just too much of a coward to kill himself, which doesn't sound much like the people who strap explosives to themselves and head for the nearest crowd? What then.

Posted by: roxsteady [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 14, 2009 2:41 PM

Logically, if Nidal Hasan is one terrorist shooter then Bush had twice as many during his time in office.

Adding this prediction: I'm really laughing at all the concern over whether the US criminal justice system can handle these trials. Both trials will be brief and effective. Example: the NY trial judge will NOT, repeat NOT, deliberate a change of venue longer than it takes for him to stop laughing.

I've been waiting for someone to dig up some quotes. Check out what Rudy had to say about the prosecution of Moussauoi for the 1993 bombings of the Trade Center from ThinkProgress:

-– “‘It should show that our legal system is the most mature legal system in the history of the world,’ he [Giuliani] said, ‘that it works well, that that is the place to seek vindication if you feel your rights have been violated.’” [The New York Times, 3/5/94

When will the media play this clip. I guess we can forget about George Stephanopoulos tomorrow!

I know--

The right wing makes it sound like we are inviting the terrorists over for Thanksgiving dinner.

Justice will be decisive and swift--and transparent.

I can see it now, when the verdict comes down. It will be like the OJ decision except my fellow African Americans will be cheering with me and the rest of us for the CONVICTIONS of these fucking murderers!

Keep in mind that there are a number of men who have been held for up to 8 years, tortured repeatedly, who did nothing wrong - had no connection to any terrorist groups, nothing. They were victims to BushCo's brilliant plan to offer large rewards to civilians who turned in their neighbors, and many did. These men have been sitting in cells, denied trials or have had their trials continued over & over.
Of the approximately 30 who have been tried by military tribunals, 3 have been convicted - and 27 have had their lives destroyed by the US. Another 150 to 200* more are still waiting. *(241 was the last number I heard and that was in the early spring. I don't know how many have been released with an "oh, oops. We bad" since then)
It is obvious that the military tribunal/commissions thing that BushCo devised to do an end run around bother the Geneva Conventions & the US Constitution are a huge failure. At this point, trials in a civilian court are the only option. And thank heavens we're finally getting on with them!
It is obvious that the military commissions
